Unexplained breathlessness is a common challenge in clinical practice, as it can involve various systems—ranging from respiratory, cardiovascular, and neuromuscular to factors like deconditioning and multifactorial causes. Therefore, a systematic, multidisciplinary, and evidence-based diagnostic approach is essential to accurately identify the cause of the breathlessness and avoid diagnostic delays or unnecessary testing.
According to Dr. Ratih, the exchange of experiences between academics and clinicians from UNS and UNSW is crucial for broadening perspectives on clinical reasoning, the selection of diagnostic tests, and their application in daily practice.
"I hope this activity will contribute to the ongoing international collaboration between UNS and UNSW in the fields of education, research, and healthcare service development," she said.
