A total of 311 new students from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) participated in the Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) program, held at the FK UNS Auditorium from August 11 to 13, 2026. These new students are part of the 11,237 students inducted and officially welcomed by the UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., on Tuesday (August 11, 2026) at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium, UNS.

In his remarks, Prof. Hartono welcomed all new students participating in the PKKMB activities at their respective faculties. He encouraged the students to use this initial period of their studies as an opportunity to build character, competence, and networks, as well as to discover their own potential.

"Welcome to the new UNS students of the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Today, you all become part of the long journey of UNS," said Prof. Hartono.

These 11,237 new students are among the 164,292 applicants who participated in the UNS admission selection process. This high number of applicants reflects the public's strong confidence in UNS. In the 2026 National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT), UNS ranked as the state university with the second-highest number of applicants in Indonesia.

The 2026 UNS New Student Orientation (PKKMB) was also attended by the Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si., along with his delegation. The Governor's presence was part of a series of preparatory sessions designed to equip new students to navigate the dynamics of academic life and the challenges of the future.

In his remarks, the Dean of the UNS Faculty of Medicine (FK UNS), Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), stated that the opportunity to become a student at FK UNS is one not everyone gets to experience.

"Today, you have officially become students of the UNS Faculty of Medicine, one of the most sought-after faculties in Indonesia. Out of the thousands of applicants who dreamed of being accepted into FK UNS, you are the fortunate ones. Do not squander this opportunity; make the most of it and study diligently," he said.
He further noted that these new students made the right choice in selecting FK UNS for their studies, given the faculty's quality, which continues to improve year after year.

“In the rankings published by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the UNS Faculty of Medicine has consistently ranked among the top five medical schools in Indonesia over the past few years. So, you have certainly made the right choice by selecting the UNS Faculty of Medicine for your studies,” he said.

The 2026 UNS New Student Orientation (PKKMB) adopted the theme “Together with UNS, Shaping an Active, Inclusive, Humanistic, Adaptive, and Globally Competitive Generation.” This theme serves as a guiding principle for new students as they navigate their academic and student lives at UNS.

The 2026 UNS orientation program was conducted in several stages designed to provide new students with a comprehensive introduction to the campus. Activities began on the first day, Tuesday (August 11, 2026), with the university-level orientation. On the second day, Wednesday (August 12, 2026), new students participated in the faculty-level orientation. The series continued on the third day, Thursday (August 13, 2026), with the study program-level orientation and the Faculty Expo.

On the fourth and fifth days, Friday and Saturday (August 14–15, 2026), new students attended the University Student Organization Expo, a platform for them to learn about the various student organizations and communities within UNS. Finally, the 2026 UNS orientation series concluded with the Semar Night Festival on Saturday (August 22, 2026), serving as a moment of togetherness and the finale of the new student welcoming events.
