FK UNS Collaborates with Universiti Putra Malaysia

The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Center for Diagnostic Nuclear Imaging (PPDN), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The signing ceremony took place at Universiti Putra Malaysia on Thursday (18/06/2026). The signing of this MoA expands Malaysia-Indonesia collaboration in medical education, diagnostic imaging, and research.
The event was attended by the Director of PPDN UPM, Prof. Dr. Subapriya Suppiah; the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. dr. Reviono, Sp.P(K); the Deputy Director of PPDN UPM, Associate Professor Dr. Suraini Mohammad Saini; the Vice Dean for Academic and Research of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. dr. Eti Poncorini Pamungkasari, M.Pd.; the Head of the PPDS Radiology Study Program, FK UNS, Dr. Rachmi Fauziah Rahayu, dr., Sp.Rad., Subsp. N-KL (K); and representatives from both institutions.
The Dean of the UNS Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. Reviono, Sp.P(K), stated that this cooperation agreement represents an important milestone in strengthening academic and professional cooperation between the two universities.
"We greatly appreciate the warm welcome extended by UPM and consider this visit a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the existing relationship between our institutions.
"We hope this collaboration will continue to grow through joint research, academic exchanges, and training programs that benefit students, academic staff, and the wider community," he said.

The Director of PPDN, UPM, Prof. Dr. Subapriya Suppiah, said this agreement builds on the strong working relationship that has developed over the past three years.
"We are proud to formalize this collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). This signing provides a strong platform for expanding cooperation in the fields of nuclear medicine, advanced radiology, research, and specialist training, while creating greater opportunities for knowledge exchange between our institutions," she said.
He added that this partnership reflects UPM's commitment to advancing healthcare innovation through international collaboration and the development of highly skilled medical personnel.
"PPDN continues to strengthen its diagnostic capabilities through the adoption of advanced imaging technologies, including the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Digital PET/CT system. This technology is expected to improve clinical services, research, and specialist training, particularly in the fields of oncology, neurology, and cardiology," she said.
This collaboration is expected to generate broader opportunities for student and staff mobility, supervision, collaborative research, scientific publications, and professional development programs in the fields of medicine and health sciences.
This collaboration will also support the advancement of molecular imaging and precision medicine, while contributing to human resource development and strengthening regional academic collaboration in the health sector between Malaysia and Indonesia.
