DISCERN-DSS Consortium Holds 3rd Project Meeting and 2nd International Train the Trainers in Thessaloniki, Greece

Consortium members of the DISCERN-DSS project from European and Indonesian partner institutions, including the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS), gathered in Thessaloniki, Greece, to attend the 3rd Project Meeting and 2nd International Train the Trainers (27-30/1/2026). This event marked a significant milestone in strengthening international collaboration and supporting the development of Digitally Enhanced Scenario-Based Learning (D-SBL). 

The week-long program combines project monitoring activities with capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing the competencies of trainers involved in the project. During the first three days, consortium members review project progress, evaluate ongoing activities, discuss key achievements, and align future actions to ensure the successful implementation of project objectives.

The meeting also provides an opportunity for partners to exchange experiences, share best practices, and discuss strategies for further strengthening digital soft skills through innovative learning approaches. Through collaborative discussions and planning sessions, participants work together to refine project outputs and ensure their relevance to higher education institutions across partner countries.

Following the project meeting, participants engage in a four-day International Train the Trainers program focusing on assessment and evaluation strategies for Digitally Enhanced Scenario-Based Learning (D-SBL). The training aims to equip educators and trainers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to design, implement, and evaluate high-quality digital learning experiences.

The program emphasizes learner-centered approaches, effective assessment methods, and the integration of digital technologies to support scenario-based learning environments. Through interactive workshops, group activities, and knowledge-sharing sessions, participants explore innovative practices that can be adapted and implemented within their respective institutions.

The gathering in Thessaloniki represents another significant step in the DISCERN-DSS project’s commitment to fostering international cooperation, promoting educational innovation, and strengthening the capacity of higher education institutions to respond to the evolving demands of digital education.

By bringing together experts, educators, and project partners from different countries, the event reinforces the shared vision of developing sustainable, high-quality digital learning resources and advancing digitally enhanced scenario-based learning practices across Europe and Indonesia.
