UNS Faculty of Medicine Mental Health Agent Holds Focus Group Discussion for Postgraduate Students

On Wednesday (April 8, 2026), the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme "Maintaining Motivation and Strengthening Resilience in Postgraduate Students at FK UNS." This activity was coordinated by the FK UNS Mental Health Agent in collaboration with the FK UNS Psychiatry Department.
Held in courtroom 2 of the Medical Education Building, the FK UNS event was attended by dozens of participants, all postgraduate students. According to the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of FK UNS, Dr. Ratih Dewi Yudhani, dr., M.Sc., this activity is part of FK UNS's commitment to providing academic and psychosocial support to postgraduate students.
"We are always committed to providing a comfortable and safe learning environment for our students. One form of our commitment is providing psychosocial support to students, especially in facing various challenges during the study process, research, and the dynamics of their professional and personal roles," she said.

This FGD provided an open and constructive discussion atmosphere between postgraduate students and the mental health agent unit of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. It had several objectives, including:
1. Identifying real challenges faced during postgraduate studies.
2. Sharing experiences and strategies for maintaining learning motivation.
3. Strengthening student resilience in dealing with academic pressure.
4. Providing input to the faculty on improving the student mentoring and service system.
This activity is expected to create a more supportive, healthy, and productive postgraduate learning environment, enabling students to complete their studies optimally, both academically and psychologically. This FGD is expected to generate constructive input for both students and study program administrators, allowing the faculty to continue improving its academic mentoring and psychosocial support system to be more responsive to the needs of postgraduate students.
