FK UNS Hosts the 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting of the BKS IKM-IKP-IKK FKI Regional 4

On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), a scientific meeting was held by the Indonesian Collaborative Body for Public Health Sciences, Preventive Medicine, Family Medicine, and Community Medicine of Faculties of Medicine (BKS IKM-IKP-IKK FKI) Region 4, which covers Central Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and all provinces on the island of Kalimantan.
This meeting is held annually, and this year, FK UNS had the opportunity to host it under the coordination of the Section of Public Health Sciences – Preventive Medicine (Section IKM-KP) of FK UNS. The meeting consisted of two sessions: a morning session featuring a scientific seminar and an afternoon session featuring an internal working meeting of the BKS IKM-IKP-IKK FKI Regional 4 management.
The morning session featured a scientific seminar on the theme "Holistic Policies for Strengthening Community-Based Primary Healthcare." The event opened with a report from the Chairperson of the BKS IKM-IKP-IKK FKI Regional 4 Management Board, Prof. Ari Natalia Probandari, dr., MPH., Ph.D., FISPH, FISCM, who is also a lecturer and professor in the IKM-KP Division of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Negeri Semarang. She explained the BKS IKM-IKP-IKK FKI and its role in the development of medical science.
"Besides being a forum for networking, this meeting also serves as a platform for sharing and assessing best practices at each institution that we can further develop. We hope that if the institutions can develop well, the quality of medical education will also improve," she said.

The event then continued with remarks and an official opening by the leadership of the Faculty of Medicine, UNS, represented by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Ratih Dewi Yudhani, dr., M.Sc. He said he hoped the scientific meeting would provide useful insights and decisions because at FK UNS itself, the focus of graduate excellence is community-based.
"We view this activity as very important and strategic because it aligns with the vision and mission of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS), which excels in community medicine. Furthermore, the presence of institutional representatives from various regions in Region 4 provides a great opportunity to unite in implementing the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), and to discuss various policy changes in the health sector," Dr. Ratih said.
The scientific seminar featured two keynote speakers: Prof. Mora Claramita, dr., MHPE, Ph.D., Sp.KKLP, a professor from FK-KMK UGM, who presented a presentation entitled "Community-Based Education (CBE) as a Holistic and Comprehensive Learning Method for Medical Students: A Study in Primary Care," and Prof. Ari Natalia Probandari, dr., MPH, Ph.D., FISPH, FISCM, from FK UNS, who presented a presentation entitled "Integration of Community-Based Education (CBE) in Strengthening the Primary Care Health System in Indonesia." The discussion with the main speaker was moderated by Sani Rachman Soleman, dr., M.Sc., Dr.PH.

The next event was a talk show session to share experiences of community learning and ILP synergy in the medical curriculum. This talk show session was filled by 4 lecturers from 4 Faculties of Medicine, namely Dr. Arsita Eka Prasetyawati, dr., M.Kes., Sp.KKLP, Subsp.FOMC., FISPH, FISCM (from the Faculty of Medicine UNS); Ronny Isnuwardana, dr., M.I.H., Ph.D., FISPH, FISCM (from the Faculty of Medicine UNMUL); Lutfan Lazuardi, dr., M.Kes., Ph.D (from the Faculty of Medicine-KMKUGM); Dr. Ratnawati, dr., M.Kes, FISPH, FISCM (from the Faculty of Medicine UNISSULA) moderated by Dr. Fitriana, dr., MSc.FM., Sp.KKLP. At the end of the event, the winners of the Best Poster Presentation and Best Short Video awards were announced, based on works submitted by students within the BKS IKM-IKP-IKK FKI Regional 4 work area.
After the morning session and break, the event continued with an internal working meeting of the BKS IKM-IKP-IKK FKI Regional 4 Management. This meeting was chaired by the Chair of the BKS IKM-IKP-IKK FKI Regional 4 Management, Prof. Ari Natalia Probandari, dr., MPH., Ph.D., FISPH, FISCM. In this session, each management committee presented their achievements over the past year and their work plans for the coming year.
The event was a dynamic one, with numerous contributions from the board members. It is hoped that this activity will advance and impact the scientific field of Public Health, Preventive Medicine, and Community Medicine across all medical faculties, especially in Region 4 of the BKS IKM.
