HRG HKINES Holds Educational Session on the Importance of Physical Activity to Overcome Sedentary Lifestyles in Teenagers

The Community Service Grant (PKM) Human Kinesiology Research Group (HGR) Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sebelas Maret held an educational program on the Importance of Physical Activity in Addressing a Sedentary Lifestyle for Adolescents at SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta. This program aims to increase adolescents' knowledge and awareness of the importance of physical activity and the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle, given the high rate of sedentary lifestyles and low levels of physical activity among adolescents. This education is crucial because the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle can lead to health problems, such as obesity, metabolic disorders, and even heart disease.
"One effort we can make is to introduce and provide understanding regarding the types and benefits of exercise, especially in addressing bad habits like a sedentary lifestyle among today's adolescents. For example, fat-burning exercises that focus on burning body fat," explained Dr. Dhoni Akbar Ghozali, dr., M.Kes., the chief executive of the HRG-HKINES 2025 Community Service Program.
