The Community Midwifery Research Group (RG) of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held a community service activity entitled "Improving the Knowledge of Mothers of Toddlers on the Basic Concept of Complementary Foods for Breast Milk (MPASI) Using Leaflets." This activity was carried out at three Integrated Primary Service Posts (ILP) in Surakarta City: Posyandu Gajahan, Posyandu Ngoresan, and Posyandu Banyuanyar.

The education program was implemented in stages, beginning on May 24, 2025, at the Posyandu Gajahan, followed by the Posyandu Ngoresan on June 10, 2025, and concluding on June 14, 2025, at the Posyandu Banyuanyar. The main objective of this activity was to increase mothers' understanding of the basic concept of complementary feeding (MPASI). The material presented covered the benefits of complementary feeding, age-appropriate food types, food textures, frequency of feeding, and potential risks if complementary feeding is not provided appropriately. The material was delivered directly by a team of lecturers and students, who also distributed educational leaflets as additional reading material for participants at home.

Throughout the activity, participants demonstrated high enthusiasm. The material presented received a positive response, as evidenced by the numerous questions and discussions that ensued during the Q&A session. The leaflets distributed were also highly appreciated for their concise yet comprehensive information on the principles of proper and safe complementary feeding.

Through this activity, it is hoped that mothers of toddlers in the Posyandu ILP Surakarta area will better understand the importance of providing complementary feeding according to their children's age and nutritional needs. This activity demonstrates the FK UNS commitment to supporting the improvement of maternal and child health in the community.
