FK UNS Inaugurates and Hippocratic Oath Taking of 13 New Doctors
The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta once again held the Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking event on Wednesday (25/6/2025). This Inauguration and Hippocratic Taking Ceremony is the 231st period held by FK UNS since its establishment in 1976.
Taking place in the FK UNS Auditorium, 13 participants attended this event consisting of 7 male participants and 6 female participants. Participants in this activity are those who have passed the Student Competency Test for the Doctor's Profession Program (UKMPPD) for the February 2025 period. The exam consists of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) which was held on February 15, 2025 and an Objective-Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) on February 22, 2025. Since its inception, FK UNS has graduated 7,308 doctors.
At the Inauguration and Oath-taking of Doctors this time, the average Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) was 3.60 with an average study period of 2 years and 3 months. The highest GPA at the Inauguration and Hippocratic Taking Ceremony this time was achieved by Samuel Oktamartdeo H., dr with a GPA of 3.73.

This activity was attended by the Dean of the UNS Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. Reviono, Sp.P(K); the Vice Deans at the UNS Faculty of Medicine; Chair of the UNS Faculty of Medicine Senate, Prof. Dr. Ari Natalia Probandari, MPH., Ph.D; Director of the Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Regional General Hospital (RSUD), dr. Zulfachmi Wahab, Sp.PD-KHOM FINASIM; Deputy Director of Education and Research at the UNS Hospital, Prof. Dr. dr. Director of Dr. Moerwadi Hospital, dr. Zulfachmi Wahab, in his speech conveyed the importance of making the medical profession a form of devotion and service to the community. "Doctors are only half the time. Only 12 hours to be a doctor, the rest is time to become a human being who continues to learn and contribute," he said.
According to him, the success of a doctor is not only determined by academic achievements such as GPA, but also the ability to build relationships, collaborate, and remain humble. He also reminded young doctors not to forget the struggle of their parents who have paid for their education.
At the end of his speech, dr. Zulfachmi expressed his hope that new doctors would not only become reliable medical personnel, but also individuals who uphold the values of tradition, ethics, and integrity. "Maintain the dignity of the medical profession and continue to learn. Don't just be a doctor, but be a learning person who is useful to many people," he said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Reviono also conveyed an inspiring message to new doctors to always maintain integrity and enthusiasm in carrying out their roles as health workers. He emphasized the importance of professionalism and building a broad network to support contributions in the medical world.
"Becoming a doctor is not only about knowledge, but also about attitude and responsibility. FK UNS alumni must continue to uphold the good name of their alma mater by upholding the values of integrity, ethics, and professionalism. Don't forget to continue to expand your network, because collaboration is the key to success in the world of health," he explained.
He also appreciated FK UNS's national ranking which was in second place according to the Times Higher Education international ranking in 2025. According to him, this achievement is the result of the dedication of all campus residents and must be maintained by all graduates.
With the inauguration of the 231st period of doctors, since its establishment in 1976, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret, has graduated 7308 (Seven Thousand Three Hundred Eight) doctors, spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions both in the fields of health services, education, research, as well as government doctors, private, TNI / POLRI and others.
