Research Group (RG) Brain, Degenerative Disease and Cancer (BDC) Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) held a community service activity in Sambi Village, Sambirejo District, Sragen Regency, on Sunday (1/6/2025). This activity carries the theme "Promotive and Preventive Efforts for Dyslipidemia for a Healthy and Quality Life."

The Community Service Team consists of doctors and lecturers from RG BDC FK UNS in collaboration with the medical team from Saras Ibnu Sina Hospital Sukowati Sragen and PPDS Radiology FK UNS.

A total of 70 residents enthusiastically participated in a series of activities that included health education on dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome. In addition, anthropometric measurements (BB/TB/BMI), blood sugar, uric acid and cholesterol examinations, and heart recordings (ECG) were also carried out. This activity aims to increase public awareness of the importance of preventing metabolic diseases, especially dyslipidemia, which is a major risk factor for various degenerative diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

The Head of RG BDC, Brian Wasita, dr., P.hD., Sp.PA (K), said that this activity is a real manifestation of the role of academics in building a healthier society. "Through this free health education and examination, we want to encourage the community to care more about a healthy lifestyle and to carry out early detection of disease risk factors," he said.

The Sambi Village community welcomed this activity enthusiastically. In addition to getting education about healthy eating patterns, the importance of physical activity, and stress management, participants also received examination results that can be the basis for follow-up to advanced health services if risks are found.

This activity also strengthens the synergy between the UNS Faculty of Medicine, Saras Ibnu Sina Sukowati Hospital and the community in creating a healthier and more qualified generation, in line with the spirit of the Tridharma of Higher Education, especially in the field of community service.
