Collaborating with Ngoresan Community Health Center, FK UNS Holds Institutional Posbindu

The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held a routine Integrated Development Post (Posbindu) Institution activity for the academic community of FK UNS on Friday (9/5/2025). Taking place at the FK UNS Auditorium, this activity was attended by more than 100 people who wanted to check their health. On this occasion, FK UNS collaborated with the Ngoresan Community Health Center (Puskesmas) to participate in this Posbindu activity.

This Institutional Posbindu activity is a screening program in the workplace that focuses on early detection of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). This is because NCDs themselves are the leading cause of death in the world. Almost three-quarters of deaths are due to non-communicable diseases that occur in poor and developing countries.

In this Posbindu service, the academic community of FK UNS who check their health will get a blood pressure check, weight and height measurement, waist circumference measurement, blood sugar level examination and free health problem consultation. In addition, they are also checked for eye health and ENT (Ear Nose Throat) by officers from the Ngoresan Community Health Center.

Deputy Dean for Education and Research of FK UNS, Dr. Eti Poncorini, dr., M.Pd explained that the collaboration with the Ngoresan Health Center itself is because FK UNS is located in the Ngoresan Community Health Center area.

"Alhamdulillah, we can hold Posbindu activities again and this time it is special because we are collaborating with the Ngoresan Community Health Center because FK UNS is located in the Ngoresan Health Center area. This is a good start for our cooperation, hopefully in the future the cooperation will be even closer in various health activities held," he said.

He also highlighted the importance of health checks, especially early detection of non-communicable diseases whose cases are increasingly being found.

"We are currently faced with diseases that in the future could increase in incidence, especially non-communicable diseases. We, the academic community, both lecturers, education staff, students are at risk of having diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and other metabolic syndromes such as cholesterol," he explained.

Representing the Ngoresan Community Health Center, dr. Andreas Budi Santoso said that his party was very happy to be invited to collaborate in this Posbindu activity. According to him, this Posbindu is similar to the program that is being intensified by the government in the health sector, namely the Free Health Check.

"As we know, currently the government is promoting the Free Health Check program. With the increasing trend of non-communicable diseases, the government feels the need to be present by providing free health checks for the community," he said.

It is hoped that with routine health checks like this, all academics at UNS can know their health condition well, so that if there are health problems experienced, they can be detected early so that they can get early treatment so that the disease does not progress to a more serious disease.
