The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) on Monday (28/04/2025) received a visit from the Inclusive Campus Team which aimed to assess the readiness of FK UNS in providing services and readiness of facilities for people with disabilities. "Our presence here is only to see how prepared FK UNS is in serving people with disabilities. The form of FK UNS's readiness in providing services for people with disabilities is one of which is by issuing a Decree on Guidelines for Disabled Student Services which contains the flow and stages in serving students with disabilities. These stages include identification, verification and the formation of a companion team whose task is to accompany disabled students according to their needs and there are stages of evaluation and reporting.

The types of services for students with disabilities prepared by FK UNS can be in the form of learning modifications, provision of physical and technological accessibility, counseling and academic assistance. In addition, FK UNS has also prepared physical facilities for people with disabilities such as special parking for people with disabilities, special toilets for people with disabilities, lifts in several main buildings to ramps and special paths for people with disabilities.

Dr. Annang hopes that in addition to assessing facilities for people with disabilities, the assessors can also provide input on facilities or services for people with disabilities at FK UNS.

"We hope there is insight or input that we can discuss at the leadership level or in the field. The experience of all assessors may be able to describe what we can still improve in the faculty," he said.

He also emphasized the commitment of FK UNS to become a faculty that is friendly to people with disabilities.

"We have a commitment that people with disabilities can get the same rights and services as those who are not disabled," he said.
