In order to improve research capabilities in the biomedical field, the Biomedical Laboratory and Integrated Medical Laboratory (LKT) of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held a cell culture and flow cytometry workshop on April 21-22, 2025 at the 3rd floor Hall, Soetjipto Building, FK UNS. This workshop aims to equip students and researchers with accurate and advanced cell analysis techniques.

This workshop presented biomedical experts from FK UNS who are experienced in the field of cell culture and flow cytometry, namely Dr. Ratih Dewi Yudhani, dr., M.Sc. and Dono Indarto, dr., M.Biotech.St., Ph.D., AIFM. Workshop participants received material presentations on the basics of cell culture, cell isolation and culture techniques, and applications of flow cytometry in the analysis of apoptosis and the cell cycle.

In addition to the presentation of materials, this workshop also held cell culture and flow cytometry practicums. Workshop participants had the opportunity to do their own cell culture techniques and cell analysis using flow cytometry under the guidance of speakers and a team of instructors from PT Nutrilab Pratama.

It was hoped that this activity can improve researchers' ability to conduct accurate and up-to-date cell analysis. Thus, researchers can produce more valid and reliable data, which can ultimately improve the quality of research in the biomedical field.

Many workshop participants gave positive feedback on this activity and hoped that the Biomedical Laboratory and LKT FK UNS could hold workshops periodically to meet researchers' needs for other laboratory techniques, such as ELISA, RT PCR, Western Blotting, molecular docking, and microbiome analysis.
