The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta through the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) again released new specialist doctors on Wednesday (16/4/2025). A total of 16 students who had completed their PPDS education at FK UNS were released at this activity. The event was held offline at the FK UNS Auditorium and broadcasted via the FK UNS YouTube channel.

This moment was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic and Research UNS, Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si, M.Si .; Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K) .; the Vice Deans of FK UNS; Chair of the FK UNS Academic Senate, Prof. dr. Ari Natalia Probandari, MPH., Ph.D .; Acting Director of Dr. Moewardi Hospital, dr. Heri Dwi Purnomo, Sp.An .; Director of Human Resources, Education, and Research of Soeharso Orthopedic Hospital (RSO) Surakarta, drg. Moh. Nur Nasiruddin, M.Kes.; Deputy Director of Education and Research of UNS Hospital, Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S(K); Secretary General of the Alumni Family (KA) of FK UNS, Dr. Muhammad Riza, dr., Sp.A(K), M.Kes.; and all Heads of Study Programs of PPDS FK UNS.

Based on the academic report read by the Vice Dean for Academic and Research of the Faculty of Medicine, UNS, Dr. Eti Poncorini, dr., M.Pd., the sixteen participants of the graduation ceremony consisted of 4 graduates from the Surgery Study Program, 4 graduates from the Internal Medicine Study Program, 2 graduates from the Neurology Study Program, 2 graduates from the Heart and Blood Vessels Study Program, 2 graduates from the Internal Medicine Subspecialist Doctor Education, and 2 graduates from the Psychiatry Study Program.

In this graduation ceremony, there was a participant with the highest Cumulative Achievement Index (GPA) achieved by Iin Novita Nurhidayati Mahmuda, dr., Sp.P.D., Subsp.P.T.I.(K) with a GPA of 3.96 from the Internal Medicine Subspecialist Doctor Education Study Program. Meanwhile, the youngest graduate in this PPDS Graduation was Hanifan Danu Wijaya, dr., Sp.P.D from the PPDS Internal Medicine Study Program and was 29 years and 7 months old when he graduated.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that the graduates have actually studied at one of the best medical faculties. According to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) 2025, UNS is ranked 2nd in Indonesia. He advised new specialist doctors to be able to carry out their role as doctors professionally.

“Three messages from me, the first is professionalism by mastering competencies. The second is integrity, when becoming a resident is the phase of a doctor with the best integrity. The third is networking,” he said.

Prof. Fitria in her speech hoped that the graduates would maintain the great name and reputation of UNS. Contribution to the progress of the nation is something that is highly anticipated from new specialist doctors. She also advised them to continue working in their respective expertise.

"Provide integrity, show proud achievements, and show concern in the community without regard to race or certain groups," Prof. Fitria said.

With the implementation of the release of PPDS for the April 2025 period, FK UNS has graduated 2,038 specialist doctors and 2 subspecialist doctors since its inception in 1976. They have been spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions both in the fields of health services, education, research, as well as government, private, TNI / POLRI specialist doctors and others.
