More than 100 People Attend Free Health Check-ups at Posbindu FK UNS


 

To detect early risk factors for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an Integrated Guidance Post (Posbindu). This activity was held at the Auditorium of Medical Education, FK UNS, Friday (11/4/2025). This activity, which is routinely held every 3 months, was open to all UNS academics and is free of charge.

This Posbindu was attended by 120 people who looked very enthusiastic to check their health. Each participant underwent various examinations such as blood pressure checks, body mass index checks, blood sugar checks, cholesterol checks, uric acid checks and also consultations with doctors who are experts in their fields.

Vice Dean for Non-Academic Affairs, FK UNS, Dr. Annang Giri Mulyo, dr., Sp.A(K) when opening this activity expressed his hope that this Posbindu could continue to be held routinely.

"With routine activities, it is hoped that all of you can maintain your health. If we are healthy, we can work well, we can create well," he said.

According to Dr. Victoria, one of the committee members of this activity, Posbindu aims to be a screening medium for non-communicable diseases in institutions so that they can detect and prevent diseases early.

"The activities of this institutional Posbindu are very important in improving the health and welfare of the UNS academic community. With this activity, it is hoped that it can reduce the number of NCDs in institutions. The institutional Posbindu can also be an example for other institutions in implementing integrated and sustainable health activities," he said.

It is hoped that with the existence of Posbindu, this institution can provide benefits for all UNS academicians by increasing the level of health and decreasing the number of PTM at UNS.

"Thus, we hope that UNS can become a healthy and prosperous institution, and can contribute to improving the quality of life of the community," he concluded.
