The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta through the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) again released new specialist doctors, Thursday (20/3/2025). In the March 2025 period, FK released 7 PPDS students. The event was held offline at the Auditorium of FK UNS and broadcasted via the FK UNS YouTube channel.

This event was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic and Research UNS, Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si, M.Si .; Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P (K) .; the vice deans of FK UNS; Deputy Director of General Affairs and Finance of Dr. Moewardi Hospital, dr. Ikhwan Hamzah; Deputy Director of Education and Research of UNS Hospital, Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S (K); Chairman of the FK UNS Alumni Family, Dr. Muhammad Husen Prabowo, dr., MPH; and all Heads of the PPDS FK UNS Study Program.

Based on the academic report read by the Vice Dean for Academic and Research of the UNS Medical Faculty, Dr. Eti Poncorini, dr., M.Pd., UNS Medical Faculty has graduated 2024 specialist doctors since its inception in 1976. They have been spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions both in the fields of health services, education, research, as well as specialist doctors for the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.

The seven participants of the graduation ceremony consisted of 3 graduates of the Paediatric Study Program, 3 graduates of the Heart and Cardiology Study Program, and 1 graduate of the Psychiatry Study Program. In this graduation ceremony, there was a participant with the highest Cumulative Achievement Index (IPK) achieved by Sofia Kusumadewi, dr. Sp.J.P. She is a graduate with a GPA of 3.87 and comes from the PPDS Cardiology Study Program. Meanwhile, the youngest graduate in this PPDS Graduation is Safitri Tia Tampy, dr., Sp.A. She is a graduate from the Paediatric Study Program and was 29 years and 10 months old when she graduated.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono, in his speech said that the newly inaugurated specialist doctors will carry out their role as doctors professionally. Integrity and professionalism are their provisions after graduating from education.

"In this professionalism there is component, namely competence. Next is responsibility. Then there are special loads such as patient safety which are also included in the components of professionalism. The last is having a wide and positive network," he said.

The release of PPDS in the period of March 2025 after the 49th Anniversary of UNS is a special moment. Prof. Fitria hopes that the graduates will maintain the great name and reputation of UNS. The dedication given by specialist doctors will later become an implementation of humanitarian values.

"Hopefully the results of learning, hard work, and commitment can provide benefits, blessings, and become a major contribution to society. We hope that all specialist doctors will give their dedication sincerely by prioritizing noble morals so as to create a good name for UNS," Prof. Fitria said.
