FK UNS Inaugurates and Takes Oath of 33 New Doctors at the 230th Period


 

The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) once again held the Inauguration and Oath-Taking of Doctors for the 230th period, Thursday (13/2/2025). The event, which took place at the FK UNS Auditorium, was attended by academic officials from FK UNS and the main teaching hospital. They witnessed the oath-taking of 33 new doctors.

Present at this event were the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); Vice Dean for Academic and Research of FK UNS, Dr. Eti Poncorini Pamungkasari, dr., MPd; Vice Dean for Non-Academic Affairs of FK UNS, Dr. Annang Giri Moelyo, dr., Sp.A (K), M.Kes and Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of FK UNS, Dr. Ratih Dewi Yudhani, dr., M.Sc. In addition, the Acting Officer of Director of Dr. Moewardi Hospital, Heri Dwi Purnomo, dr., Sp.An, M.Kes., KMN.FIPM.KAR, was also present; Deputy Director of Education and Research of UNS Hospital, Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S(K); Head of the Doctor Profession Study Program, Dr. Pepi Budianto, dr., Sp.S(K); Head of the Undergraduate Medical Study Program, Betty Suryawati, dr., M.BiomedSci, Ph.D.; and Deputy Chair II of the Alumni Family (KA) of the Medical Faculty, Supanji Raharja, dr., Sp.OG(K), MARS.

A total of 33 newly inaugurated doctors have been declared to had passed the Doctoral Professional Program Student Competency Test (UKMPPD) for the November 2024 period. The test consisted of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) which was held on November 16, 2024 and an Objective-Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) which was held on November 23, 2024.

In this period, there were four doctors who successfully graduated with cum laude or with honors. They are dr. Nada Syifa Al Biruni; dr. Hanifah Karim; dr. Fadhil Ilham Anfarisa; and dr. Hidayat Fatahillah. Of the four best graduates, dr. Nada Syifa Al Biruni, obtained the highest GPA of 3.81 with a study period of 2 years and 2 months.

Acting Officer of Director of Dr. Moewardi Hospital, dr. Heri Dwi Purnomo, in his speech said that this inauguration is not the end, but the beginning of a long journey of a doctor's career. He emphasized that doctors have various career opportunities, from hospital management, becoming specialist doctors, to working as lecturers and researchers.

"There is a part, namely hospital management, which must also be considered to be studied. Don't just study the science, because management is also difficult. The public may feel that the service is not good because of poor management," dr. Heri mentioned.

He also emphasized that for those who want to continue their education as specialist doctors, Dr. Moewardi Hospital is ready to accept UNS FK graduates again. There are many advanced clinical learnings towards specialists and consultants that can be done there.

In addition, he also highlighted the importance of a doctor's role in the academic world as a lecturer or researcher. This profession is considered an opportunity to share knowledge. Lecturers also play a role in producing a generation of more qualified doctors. So that alumni of FK UNS remain role models in the world of medicine.

Meanwhile, Prof. Reviono reminded the new doctors to always maintain their enthusiasm in planning their future and carry out their mandate with full integrity. He advised the alumni of FK UNS to continue to uphold professionalism and maintain the good name of their alma mater. With the inauguration of these 33 new doctors, FK UNS continues to be committed to producing superior medical personnel and contributing to the world of health, both at the national and international levels.

“A newly inaugurated and sworn-in doctor must have enthusiasm in organizing ideals and hopes. FK UNS alumni must maintain the good name of their alma mater which has provided the best competence and attitude. Prioritize professionalism, integrity, and build a strong network,” Prof. Reviono said.

Since its inception, FK UNS has graduated 7,295 doctors. UNS graduate doctors serve in various institutions, both in the fields of health services, education, research, and other sectors such as government doctors, private doctors, and TNI/Polri.
