FK UNS Inaugurates and Takes Oath of 14 New Doctors Period 229
The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) once again held the Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking on Tuesday (5/12/2024). This Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking is the 229th period held by the Faculty of Medicine UNS since its establishment in 1976.
Taking place at the UNS Medical Faculty Auditorium, this activity was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic and Research Affairs of UNS, Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si, M.Si.; Dean of UNS Medical Faculty, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); vice deans at UNS Medical Faculty; Deputy Director of Education and Research of UNS Hospital, Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S(K); Representative from Dr. Moewardi Regional General Hospital (RSUD), dr. Eric Edwin Yuliantara, Sp.OG; Head of the Undergraduate Medical Study Program, Betty Suryawati, dr., M.Biomed Sci., Ph.D., Sp.MK; Head of the Doctoral Profession Study Program, Dr. Pepi Budianto, dr., Sp.S(K).
In the report read by the Vice Dean of Academic and Research of the Faculty of Medicine UNS, Dr. Eti Poncorini Pamungkasari, dr., M.Pd, the 14 participants of the Hippocratic Oath Taking were those who had passed the Doctor's Professional Program Student Competency Examination (UKMPPD) which was held in August 2024. The UKMPPD was attended by 18 participants with 14 participants passing (77.7%) while the first taker pass rate was 14 people (93.3%) out of 15 participants.

At the Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking this time, there were 3 participants with a very satisfactory predicate (cum laude). The highest Cumulative Achievement Index (GPA) at the Doctor's Oath this time was achieved by dr. Naomi Heidi Amarda Murti with a GPA of 3.84.
The representative of the new doctors, dr. Muhammad in his speech said that the oath that had been taken was a symbol that the new doctors had accepted the mandate and responsibility of the profession as a doctor.
"We have chosen to persist in facing various challenges to become a doctor, so this momentum is an extraordinary achievement but it must be remembered that the journey is not over and there are still other journeys full of challenges ahead," he said.

"We would like to thank all parties who have colored our journey until we have succeeded in reaching this point. Not to forget our teachers who have sheltered and forged us with all the knowledge and wisdom. Hopefully these good things can be our provisions in taking a new chapter of our journey as a doctor," he said.
Vice Rector for Academic and Research UNS, Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si, M.Si said that this doctor's degree is a form of recognition of the knowledge, academic competence and professional competence that has been achieved.
"By holding the title of doctor, you bear a greater responsibility to society, to the nation and to humanity. If in the past when students made mistakes, the consequences were only on their course grades, but now if they make mistakes, the consequences are not only to themselves but also to the injured party and to society. This is a very big responsibility," she said.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that the challenge of becoming a doctor is quite heavy.
"You have all gone through an educational process that is not easy, because later you will carry out humanitarian tasks that are not light. We have provided more than enough provisions in terms of skills, knowledge and so on. Use all of that well so that you can become professional doctors," Prof. Reviono said.
Prof. Reviono left a message to the new doctors to maintain the good name of FK UNS, "Now you have all become part of the FK UNS alumni family, so I advise you to maintain the good name of FK UNS," he concluded.
With the inauguration of the 229th period of doctors, since its establishment in 1976, the Faculty of Medicine, Sebelas Maret University, has graduated 7262 (seven thousand two hundred and sixty-two) doctors, who have been spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions both in the fields of health services, education, research, as well as government doctors, private, TNI/POLRI and others.
