Radiology Study Program of FK UNS Collaborates with FK UB to Hold Community Service "Early Detection of Gallstones"
In order to realize one of the elements of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service, the Radiology Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University (UB) held a community service activity "Early Detection of Gallstones" in Sambi Village, Sragen Regency, Central Java on Saturday (9/11/2024).
In addition to examinations using an ultrasound (USG) device, dozens of people who attended this event were also given counseling about gallstones by the PPDS Radiology FK UNS residents, starting from the causes of gallstones, the symptoms felt and the treatment that must be carried out. The enthusiasm of the community members who attended this session was very apparent, this can be seen from the many questions submitted by the community.

The Secretary of Sambi Village, Suyanto, is very grateful for this community service activity because it really helps his residents to get health checks, especially early detection of gallstones.
"On behalf of the Head of Sambi Village, I would like to express my gratitude for your assistance in providing free check-ups to our residents. Assistance like this is greatly needed by the people of Sambi Village, because for us health is very important. Sometimes our residents still ignore check-ups like this, so hopefully if someone is detected early, they can be treated immediately," he said.
It is hoped that with activities like this, the community will be more open-minded about the importance of health check-ups so that it can improve the quality of public health in Sambi Village.
