Radiology Study Program of FK UNS Holds Community Service at CFD Jalan Slamet Riyadi Surakarta


 

In order to commemorate International Radiology Day which is celebrated every November 8 and coincides with the Anniversary of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) and to commemorate National Health Day which is celebrated every November 12, the Specialist Program (PPDS) in Radiology of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held a Community Service activity which was held on Sunday (3/11/2024) located on Jalan Slamet Riyadi Surakarta.

The activity which coincided with Car Free Day (CFD) event was filled with exercises, talk shows about radiology and free health checks for the community including blood pressure checks, blood sugar and uric acid laboratories. This activity also invited the Lovely Pink Solo Foundation (LPS) which is a community of breast cancer survivors in the city of Solo.

The enthusiasm of the people of Solo City to check their health was very high, this could be seen from the queue of dozens of people waiting for examination by the PPDS Radiology resident doctor of FK UNS.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), who attended and opened this activity strongly supports activities that can bring benefits to the community.

"As a leader in the Faculty of Medicine, I really appreciate the Radiology study program because this activity is a manifestation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely education, research and community service. As a doctor, you must be able to provide your knowledge to the wider community," he said.

Deputy Director of Services at Dr. Moewardi Hospital, dr. Heri Dwi Purnomo, Sp.An, in his speech advised doctors to also maintain their health so that they can provide optimal service when serving the community.

"Congratulations to the Radiology study program on International Radiology Day. Hopefully the role of Radiology in establishing diagnostics and therapy can run well, especially at Dr. Moewardi Hospital with sophisticated equipment and the availability of good human resources will help patients who really need a touch from Radiology," he said.

Head of the Radiology Study Program, FK UNS, dr. Rachmi Fauziah Rahayu, Sp.Rad (K) hoped that community service activities like this can provide education to the community and raise awareness about health.

"This activity is a series of the International Day of Radiology, every year God willing we are always here holding gymnastics, providing health education and also treatment for the community as a form of community service from the Radiology study program, FK UNS," dr. Rachmi said.
