FK UNS Releases 6 New Specialist Doctors at the Release of PPDS Period September 2024


 

The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) through the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) on Thursday (26/9/2024) again released new specialist doctors who had graduated from FK UNS. This event was attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni UNS, Prof. Ir. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D; Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); the vice deans of FK UNS; Deputy Director of Education and Research of UNS Hospital, Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S(K); Chairperson of the FK UNS Alumni Family, Dr. Muhammad Husen Prabowo, dr., MPH, and all Heads of the FK UNS PPDS Study Program.

Based on the academic report read by the Vice Dean for Academic and Research, Dr. Eti Poncorini, dr., M.Pd, 6 participants of the release consisted of 2 people from the Internal Medicine Study Program, 2 people from the ENT-BKL Study Program, 1 person from the Heart and Blood Vessels Study Program, 1 person from the Dermatology and Venereology Study Program.

In this graduation, there were participants with the highest Cumulative Achievement Index (IPK) achieved by Alvian Oscar Irawan, dr., Sp.P.D with a GPA of 3.87 from the Internal Medicine Study Program. While the youngest graduate in this PPDS Graduation was Ari Matea, dr., Sp.THT-BKL from the ENT-BKL Study Program and was 30 years and 7 months old when he graduated.

Alvian Oscar Irawan, dr., Sp.P.D, representing the graduates, in his speech felt proud to be a student at FK UNS and hoped that the knowledge he had gained could be used to help others.

"For years we have not only learned about medical science, but also understood the meaning of sincerity, empathy and devotion. We are not only taught to be intelligent specialist doctors, but also to be human beings who care about others. Every patient who comes to us must bring hope, and we have been trained to be people who can provide that hope with our abilities and knowledge," he said.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that the newly inaugurated specialist doctors will carry out their roles as doctors professionally.

"In this professionalism there is a component, namely competence. Here you have all been trained and taught about competence, of course all of this has been mastered. Next is responsibility. A professional will be responsible for what is done. Then there are special loads such as patient safety also included in the professionalism component," he mentioned.

In addition, Prof. Reviono also advised the new specialist doctors who are now alumni to maintain the good name of UNS and continue to maintain good relations with colleagues and with the alma mater.

Prof. Ir. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D, as the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni in his speech said that these new doctors have been waiting for a new chapter in life and to become part of society.

"There are opportunities that you can take advantage of but there are also challenges that lie ahead. During your studies at university, you have all gained a lot of knowledge, especially in the medical field, but what is no less important is the development of non-technical skills, such as critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, leadership and the ability to build networks," he said.

With the release of specialist doctors for the August period, the UNS Faculty of Medicine since its establishment in 1976, has graduated 1948 (One Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty-Eight) specialist doctors, who have been spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions both in the fields of health services, education, research, as well as specialist doctors for the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.
