The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) has again inaugurated 127 new students of the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS). These new students are the results of the New Student Admissions Selection (SPMB) of Universitas Sebelas Maret for the 2024/2025 academic year and have met the requirements and have re-registered.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the FK UNS Auditorium, Tuesday (17/9/2024) marked by the draping of student cards by the UNS Rector. The event was attended by the UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si; UNS Vice Rector for Academic and Research, Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si., M.Si; UNS FK Dean, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); the Vice Deans at UNS FK; Head of the UNS SPMB Office, Prof. Drs. Sutarno, M.Sc., Ph.D .; Director of the UNS Academic Directorate, Dr.Agr. Ir. Sigit Prastowo, S.Pt., M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN Eng and the Heads of Study Programs (Kaprodi) of PPDS at FK UNS.

Prof. Fitria said that the inaugurated New PPDS Students were the result of a series of selection processes whose registration began in July 2024 and all of these processes had been carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. The number of New PPDS Students who passed the 2nd stage and had registered was 127 students.

"The selection process is divided into two stages. Stage I selection is carried out by taking an online test with TPA and English Language Proficiency materials or by uploading BAPPENAS TPA certificates and TOEFL ITP/IELTS certificates. Stage II exams include study program interview tests, scientific field tests, psychological tests, portfolios, physical health tests (MCU), and interview tests by university and hospital leaders," Prof. Fitria said.

It was further conveyed that in the first stage of the exam, the number of registrants was 395 people. Of that number, 360 people or 91.14% were declared to have passed the first stage of the exam and were entitled to take the second stage of the exam. Then based on the results of the second stage of the exam, there were 128 prospective students from 15 study programs who had passed the selection and of that number there was 1 prospective student who did not register.

UNS Rector, Prof. Hartono in his speech congratulated the new PPDS students who had been accepted in this period.

"Congratulations on your success in being accepted into the PPDS FK UNS. I know exactly that the process is very long, the stages are extraordinary, the selection is quite strict. There are many forms of tests that must be passed and Alhamdulillah today you are all inaugurated as new students. You must be grateful for this achievement by showing your hard work, studying diligently, following all procedures so that the learning process can run smoothly and graduate on time," said Prof. Hartono.

After the inauguration ceremony was over, the new PPDS students took part in Pre-Education activities which were filled with presentations about the Faculty of Medicine by the FK UNS Leadership, the UNS Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (PPKS), the UNS Student Code of Ethics Council and FK UNS as well as an introduction to the UNS Library.

These new PPDS students will later undergo Pre-Education activities at the Faculty of Medicine and at Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Hospital (RSDM) before starting their education period, most of which will be spent at RSDM.
