The Alumni Family (KA) of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) on Sunday (25/8/2024) held a Pre-National Conference (Munas) activity which took place in the FK UNS auditorium.

In his report, the chairman of the committee for the KA FK Munas activity, Dr. Muhammad Husen Prabowo, dr., MPH said that this pre-munas activity aims to discuss problems that will be determined later in the Munas activity on August 31 to September 1, 2024

"The KA FK UNS activity aims for alumni to be more active in society, this pre-munas activity is an effort to involve all generations of the FK UNS alumni family so that they can contribute to the Munas event," he explained.

Furthermore, dr. Husen said that the pre-national conference was attended by 63 participants who attended in person and 75 participants via zoom meeting. "This shows that the enthusiasm of the KA FK members to contribute to alumni is increasing," he said.

The Head of KA FK UNS, dr. Sri Pratomo, Sp.B, FINACS, FICS hopes that the discussion of various matters and preparations for the success of the national conference can be completed in this pre-national conference activity.

"This pre-conference activity is part of a series of congress activities. We organizationally need the involvement of all classes, because in the congress later, the ones who have a say are the classes. I hope that the congress can be completed in a state of consensus and in a good condition of brotherhood because FK UNS alumni are known for 3K, namely collegiality, politeness and togetherness," he explained.

In this pre-conference activity, a parallel commission meeting was held consisting of the Education Commission, Organizational Commission, Social Commission, Digital Information and Medical Technology Commission. The results of this meeting will later be determined at the congress activities.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K in his speech said that the position of alumni is very important for the performance and sustainability of FK UNS.

"Alumni themselves are on the accreditation form, it shows the importance of the position of alumni and the form itself must be filled so that the contribution of alumni is very important," he mentioned.

According to him, alumni have a strategic position as a bridge between us as managers and students because alumni themselves were once students so they understand what students need.

"In 2024, FK UNS will be ranked 3rd best Faculty of Medicine in Indonesia according to the Time Higher Education World University Rankings. This achievement cannot be separated from the role of alumni because one of the assessment systems for this ranking is from the alumni side," he explained.

On this occasion, Prof. Reviono left a message for the role of alumni in society to be further improved. "The priority of alumni is to provide benefits to their alma mater, to their colleagues and to society," he concluded.
