To detect early risk factors for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an Integrated Guidance Post (Posbindu). This activity was held at the Auditorium of Medical Education, FK UNS, Friday (8/23/2024).
Head of the Public Health Science Division, FK UNS, Vitri Widyaningsih, dr., M.S., Ph.D. said that Posbindu is an activity for monitoring and early detection of NCD risk factors. For that, through this Posbindu activity, FK UNS hopes that UNS academics will be more concerned about health. From FK UNS, every three months they hold a Posbindu targeting not only FK UNS academics but also other faculties or units. "We send young doctors to conduct examinations. However, we as lecturers continue to supervise. In implementing Posbindu, we also provide education to campus academics who come to always have a healthy lifestyle," she added.
Posbindu activities themselves start from the registration desk, anthropometry, blood pressure checks, laboratory tests, and health consultations by medical personnel. "So visitors come directly to the registration desk, then we collect data, we interview them regarding their health history, then they measure their height, weight, waist circumference, and blood pressure. In the Posbindu held by FK UNS, the examinations served include uric acid, cholesterol and blood sugar checks. After the examination is carried out, we will know whether the person concerned is obese or not. After the examination, it is continued to the education desk," Vitri explained.

It is hoped that with this examination, the community can be more aware of their health status and can implement a healthy lifestyle, so that they can avoid various NCDs. "I hope that each faculty can hold a Posbindu as a means for early detection of NCDs. And don't forget the CERDIK slogan to avoid NCD risk factors. Namely, Check Your Health Regularly, Eliminate Cigarette Smoke, Be Diligent in Physical Activity/Exercise, Healthy and Balanced Diet, Get Enough Rest and Manage Stress," she concluded.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Dean of Human Resources, Finance and Logistics of the UNS Medical Faculty, Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S(K) in her remarks emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. "It turns out that the enthusiasm of the campus community is very high, as seen from the many who attended to participate in the Posbindu. Hopefully in the future it will not only be held once every three months, but can be held routinely once a month," Dr. Diah said.
