FK UNS Again Graduates 18 New Specialist Doctors


 

The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) through the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) on Thursday (13/6/2024) again released new specialist doctors who had graduated from FK UNS. This event was attended by Acting Officer Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S; Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); the deputy deans of FK UNS, Director Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta, Dr. Cahyono Hadi, dr., Sp.OG(K); Deputy Director of Education and Research at UNS Hospital, Tonang Dwi Ardyanto, Sp.P.K., Ph.D; as well as all Heads of the FK UNS PPDS Study Program.  

During the release of specialist doctors this June, the UNS Faculty of Medicine released 18 new specialist doctors. It should be noted that out of the 18 participants, there are 4 recipients of the Ministry of Health's Study Assignment scholarship, and to date the number of graduates receiving the Ministry of Health's Study Assignment scholarship is 351 people.

Based on the academic report read by the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs, Paramasari Dirgahayu, dr., Ph.D, the 18 discharge participants consisted of 1 person from the Heart and Blood Vessel Study Program, 7 people from the Dermatology and Venereology Study Program, 2 people from the Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy Study Program, 6 people from the Child Health Sciences Study Program and 2 people from the Psychiatry Study Program.

In this release, there was 1 participant with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA), which was achieved by Nandia Permata Rahma Al Khusna, dr., Sp.A, from the Child Health Sciences PPDS Study Program with a GPA of 3.88.

Meanwhile, the youngest graduate in the PPDS Release this time was Qeis Ramadhan, dr., Sp.A, from the Child Health Science PPDS Study Program with an age of 29 years and 2 months at the time of graduation.

Satrio Pratomo, dr., Sp.A, representing the graduates, in his speech sent a message to his colleagues not to become complacent because holding the title of specialist doctor does not mean stopping learning and serving.

"This moment of release is the right time for us to reflect on ourselves, don't be complacent and remain humble, the real struggle has just begun. Let's provide the best possible service from the knowledge we gain here to the Indonesian nation and state," he said.

Don't forget Dr. Satrio also reminded his colleagues to always maintain professionalism in becoming a doctor.

“Always maintain communication with patients, with love and empathy so that they can provide the best service. Continue to participate in scientific activities and training so that our abilities and professionalism are maintained. With this title, we carry the mandate of upholding norms, ethics and etiquette as best as possible so that we can provide benefits to the Indonesian people wherever we serve," he said.

Director of Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta, Dr. Cahyono Hadi, dr., Sp.OG(K) advised new specialist doctors not to stop learning and continue to increase their knowledge.

"We hope that in the context of this health transformation, the needs of doctors will also be met. If we see that now there are foreign doctors. As a specialist medical graduate, you will later join in the competition for this job opportunity. "If you have the idealism to build a nation then you will not fight over it, but if you have a different orientation then this opportunity will become a struggle," he said.

Apart from that, he advised the new specialist doctor graduates to always maintain ethics, because current ethical issues are very worrying.

"I hope that all of you can be useful for society, you will be useful for the country, how can we reduce the morbidity rate, death rate and help encourage the country to be promotive and preventive in handling health," he concluded.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that to become a good doctor, one of them must be a professional doctor.

"In professionalism there are several components such as competence. You have all been given sufficient competence in every medical skills activity or diagnosis method. Apart from that, we have also set an example of responsibility in the profession. We have also taught patient safety, so that is all capital to become a professional," Prof. Reviono said.

Apart from that, Prof. Reviono also advised that the new specialist doctors who are now alumni can maintain the good name of UNS and continue to maintain good relations with colleagues and with the alma mater.

With the release of specialist doctors this June, the UNS Faculty of Medicine since its founding in 1976, has graduated 1878 (one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight) specialist doctors, who have spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various agencies in the field of health services, education, research, as well as specialist doctors for the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.
