Undergraduate Program and Professional Midwife Education Program of FK UNS Holds Midwives Oath for the First Time


 

The Undergraduate Study Program (Prodi) and Midwife Professional Education, Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held a Midwives Oath Taking event on Friday (31/5/2024). Taking place in the Soetjipto building hall of FK UNS, this activity, which was held for the first time, was attended by the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); acting officer vice deans at FK UNS; Chairman of the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) Surakarta City Branch, Sri Wahyuni, SST, M.Kes; Head of the Undergraduate Study Program and Midwife Professional Education, Dr. Ika Sumiyarsi Sukamto, S.SiT., M.Kes.

A total of 10 participants took part in this event. Participants in the Midwives Oath are those who have passed the Student Competency Examination for the Midwife Professional Program which was held on March 23 2024. The Midwives Oath Taking event was attended by 10 participants with 10 participants passing or 100 percent.

At this time taking the Midwives Oath, there was 1 participant with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA), which was achieved by Hudzaifah Alief Fath Azizah with a GPA of 3.99.

Chair of the IBI Surakarta Branch, Sri Wahyuni, said that midwives who have taken the professional oath must be able to carry out their duties well as stated in the oath.

"After taking this professional oath, you will be bound by the responsibility as a midwife to carry out your duties in the community. I remind all of you not to be satisfied with this achievement, continue to learn and expand your scientific knowledge," she said

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that midwives are one of the important pillars in the world of health in Indonesia.

“All of you who have just taken the oath are important pillars for public health in Indonesia. Together with other health workers such as doctors or nurses, you all must be able to work together so that the public can feel your presence. We are very confident that graduates from FK UNS are quality midwives," Prof. Reviono said.

Prof. Reviono entrusted a message to the new doctors to maintain the good name of FK UNS, "We entrust the great name of FK UNS so that later when you are in society you can serve yourself as well as possible because you are all a showcase for the Faculty of Medicine UNS," he concluded.
