The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) again held an Inauguration and Doctor's Oath Taking event on Tuesday (7/5/2024). This Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking event is the 227th period held by the UNS Faculty of Medicine since its founding in 1976.

Taking place in the FK UNS Auditorium, this activity was attended by the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); acting officer of vice deans at FK UNS and Head of the Medical Professional Study Program, Dr. Pepi Budianto, dr., Sp.S(K).

A total of 3 participants took part in this event. Participants in the Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking are those who have passed the Student Competency Examination for the Medical Professional Program (UKMPPD) which was held on February 18 2024. This UKMPPD was attended by 5 participants with 3 participants passing or 60 percent.

At this Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking, there was 1 participant with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) achieved by Dr. Muhammad Narasnama Fadjar with a GPA of 3.79.

The new doctor's representative, dr. Muhammad Narasnama Fadjar in his speech expressed his gratitude to the entire FK UNS academic community for their help and support in undergoing the educational process until successfully obtaining a medical degree.

"We would like to thank all parties who have given colour to our journey until we have succeeded in reaching this point. Don't forget our teachers who have sheltered and forged us with all their knowledge and wisdom. Hopefully these good things can be a provision for us in taking this new chapter of our journey as doctors," he mentioned.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that the challenges of becoming a doctor are very difficult. When taking undergraduate level, students must master knowledge about the principles of medical science, both basic science, clinical science and other supporting sciences according to their competence.

"Then we continue with professional education, here medical students will have direct contact with patients or hands-on and this is not easy, but we have made the curriculum well enough so that these students can undergo the educational process well. We are very confident that graduates from FK UNS are quality doctors," Prof. Reviono said.

Prof. Reviono entrusted a message to the new doctors to maintain the good name of FK UNS, "We are entrusting this great name so that later when you are in society you can serve yourself as well as possible because you are all a showcase for the Faculty of Medicine UNS," he concluded.

With the inauguration of the 227th period of doctors, since the founding of 1976, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret, has graduated 7099 (seven thousand and ninety nine) doctors, who have spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various agencies in the field of health services, education, research, as well as doctors for the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.
