FK UNS Holds Institutional Posbindu Activities Focusing on Early Detection of NCDs
The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held routine Institutional Integrated Development Post (Posbindu) activities on Friday (8/3/2024). Taking place in the FK UNS Medical Education Building Hall, this activity was attended by dozens of people who wanted to check their health.
This Institution's Posbindu activity is a workplace screening program focused on early detection of Non-Communicable Diseases (PTM). In this Posbindu service, academics who come will receive blood pressure checks, Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements, blood sugar level checks, cholesterol and uric acid checks as well as consultations on health problems, all of which are provided free of charge.

Posbindu's examination services are focused on PTM because PTM itself is the main cause of death in the world, almost three-quarters of deaths are due to non-communicable diseases that occur in poor and developing countries.
This activity was opened by the Acting Officer Vice Dean for Human Resources, Finance and Logistics FK UNS, Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S(K). She hoped that this very useful activity can be carried out regularly at least once a month.

"Currently, the incidence of degenerative diseases or non-communicable diseases is increasing because they are related to lifestyle and physical and mental endurance is needed to carry out a healthy lifestyle," Dr. Diah explained.
It was hoped that this Institutional Posbindu activity can provide an overview of the health of the FK UNS academic community and provide early screening if disease is found so that they can immediately receive further treatment.
