Acting Officer of UNS Rector Inaugurates Student Hub, Music Studio and Postgraduate Building FK UNS


 

The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in carrying out its educational process does not only focus on the academic side but also pays great attention to the non-academic side of FK UNS students. This is proven by the many infrastructure facilities within FK UNS that support the development of student interests and talents.

On Saturday (02/03/2024), the Acting Officer Rector of UNS, Dr. Chatarina Muliana, S.H., S.E., M.H inaugurated the Student Hub, Music Studio and Postgraduate Building, Faculty of Medicine. This inauguration was marked by cutting strands of jasmine flowers witnessed by the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), Acting Officer Vice Dean of FK UNS, members of RKPU, Dharma Wanita PBBS and students of FK UNS.

According to Dr. Chatarina, the three newly inaugurated facilities would provide many benefits for the FK UNS extended family.

"The Student Hub will be a working space or a comfortable place to relax for students to relieve fatigue in the learning process. Meanwhile, the music studio will be a means for the FK UNS academic community to channel their hobbies and the postgraduate building will be a representative learning place for postgraduate programs at FK UNS," she said.

In his speech, Prof. Reviono explained that the Student Hub was built as a place for students to do activities, discuss or work on lecture assignments.

"So, we have designated this Student Hub as a facility for students, where there is an electricity network, internet network and a place to discuss academic and non-academic matters, careers and so on," he explained.

This 2-story building is designed to be aesthetic and attractive, coupled with the Lawe Coffee shop which serves various coffee and chocolate drinks, it will definitely make students feel more at home there.

To support students' interest in music, FK UNS also inaugurated a new music studio to replace the previously existing music studio. Apart from being wider, the new music studio is also more comfortable and equipped with new musical instruments that are better than before. Not only students, lecturers and education staff can also use this music studio facility.

"There are quite a lot of study programs at FK UNS and the average student likes music, because many have difficulty finding a music studio out there to channel their hobby, so we took the initiative to build a music studio as a form of our support for students' talent interests," he said.

Apart from the Student Hub and Music Studio, the FK UNS Postgraduate Building was also inaugurated, which houses the Doctoral Study Program in Medical Sciences and the Doctoral Study Program in Public Health Sciences. With the completion of the building and postgraduate renovation, it is hoped that the learning atmosphere and activities within it will be more comfortable.

This inauguration event was also accompanied by the acoustic music performance 'Medicoustic 2024' which is a series of events for the 48th Anniversary of UNS. Medicoustic itself is the first acoustic music performance held by FK UNS.

Inviting 4 bands from outside UNS such as RISMIK from FK UNSOED, KONGA 84 from FKKMK UGM, FK UPH Band, Moehost Saturday Morning from Dr Moewardi Hospital. Apart from that, there were several band groups from within UNS who also enlivened this music performance activity, such as Revisiii from the Faculty of Engineering UNS, Voca Justicia from the Faculty of Law UNS, Sundaesucks from FKOR UNS and KMF Band from FISIP UNS.
