The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) through the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) on Thursday (22/02/2024) again released new specialist doctors who had graduated from FK UNS. This event was attended by Acting Officer UNS Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S; Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); Plt. acting Officer of Vice Deans of FK UNS; Deputy Director of Services Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta, Heri Dwi Purnomo, dr., Sp.An; Head of the FK UNS Alumni Family, dr. Sri Pratomo, Sp.B, FinaCS, FICS; Representative from UNS Hospital, Nurhasan Agung Prabowo, dr., Sp.P.D., M.Kes; as well as all Heads of the FK UNS PPDS Study Program.

In the release of specialist doctors this February, the UNS Faculty of Medicine released 25 new specialist doctors. Based on the academic report read by the Deputy Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs, FK UNS, dr. Paramasari Dirgahayu, Ph.D, 25 discharge participants consisting of 6 people from the Pulmonology & Respiratory Medicine Study Program, 5 people from the Psychiatry Study Program, 4 people from the Dermatology and Venereology Study Program, 4 people from the Clinical Pathology Study Program, 3 people from Neurology Study Program, 2 people from the Heart and Blood Vessel Study Program, 1 person from the ENT-HNS Study Program.

In this release there was a participant with the highest Cumulative Achievement Index (GPA) which was achieved by Uzi Mardha Phoenna, dr., Sp. P.K with a GPA of 3.90 comes from the Clinical Pathology Study Program. Meanwhile, the youngest graduate in the PPDS Release this time was Elton Fredy Kalvari, dr., Sp. P.K from the Clinical Pathology Study Program and was 29 years 6 months old when he graduated.

Plt. Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S in his speech advised new specialist doctors not to get carried away with their new title and to continue learning because world developments are very challenging.

"We remind new specialist doctors not to stagnate or be complacent with their specialist doctor title because people can find out answers to their health problems through Artificial Intelligence, so continue to hone yourself to develop your knowledge," Prof. Yunus said.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that the specialist doctors who had been trained at FK UNS were doctors with qualified qualities who were ready to go directly into the community.

"Now the challenges are very different from before, especially since there is a law on health whose jargon is health transformation, and if you study this health transformation, many things have changed, in the professional sector it has changed, in the service sector it has also changed, in the education sector it has also transformed," Prof. Reviono said.

However, according to him, as alumni of FK UNS, these new specialist doctors are considered to be ready to face these various changes because they have been trained with various knowledge by competent and qualified lecturers.

Deputy Director of Services Dr. Moewardi Hospital, Heri Dwi Purnomo, dr., Sp.An congratulated the doctors on their graduation and advised that these new specialist doctors be ready to face competition with doctors from abroad.

“We represent the Director of Dr. Moewardi Hospital as the Main Teaching Hospital, congratulates all the new specialist doctors and their families. We hope that the knowledge they have can bring benefits to others," he said.

With the release of specialist doctors this February, the UNS Faculty of Medicine, since its founding in 1976, has graduated 1849 (one thousand eight hundred and forty nine) specialist doctors, who have spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various agencies in the field of health services, education, research, as well as specialist doctors for the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.
