FK UNS Releases 58 New Specialist Doctors at the Release of PPDS for the January 2024 Period


 

The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) through the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) on Thursday (25/01/2024) again released new specialist doctors who had graduated from FK UNS. This event was attended by Acting Officer UNS Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S; Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); the acting officer vice deans of FK UNS; Hospital Director Dr. Moewardi Surakarta, Dr. Cahyono Hadi, dr., Sp.OG., S.H; Head of the FK UNS Alumni Family, dr. Sri Pratomo, Sp.B, FinaCS, FICS; Vice Director of Education and Research at UNS Hospital, Tonang Dwi Ardyanto, Sp.P.K., Ph.D; as well as all Heads of the FK UNS PPDS Study Program.

In the release of specialist doctors for this January period, the UNS Faculty of Medicine released a total of 58 new specialist doctors. Based on the academic report read by the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs, FK UNS, dr. Paramasari Dirgahayu, Ph.D, 58 discharge participants consisting of 12 people from the Surgery Study Program, 9 people from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program, 4 people from the Heart and Blood Vessel Study Program, 8 people from the Internal Medicine Study Program, 6 people from the Radiology Study Program, 5 people from the Child Health Sciences Study Program, 5 people from the Orthopedics and Traumatology Study Program, 4 people from the Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy Study Program, 3 people from the ENT-BKL Program, 1 person from the Dermatology and Venereology Study Program , 1 person from the Neurology Study Program.

In this release, there were participants with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA), which was achieved by Muhammad Zuhdan Fanani, dr., Sp.P.D. with a GPA of 3.95 and Ayu Setyaningrum Iswandari Safitri, dr., Sp.P.D. with a GPA of 3.95, both of which came from the Internal Medicine Study Program. Meanwhile, the youngest graduate at the PPDS Release this time was I Putu Raynantha Surya Wiratama, dr., Sp.J.P, from the Heart and Blood Vessel Study Program, aged 29 years and 7 months at the time of graduation.

Acting Officer Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S in his speech advised that new specialist doctors could foster trust in the public regarding the quality of doctors in Indonesia so that if they experience serious health problems they do not seek treatment abroad.

"Together we need to build trust and to build that trust we basically have to increase our professionalism. "Because the substance is a professional field, these new specialist doctors need to continue learning and don't forget to make progress through research," Prof. Yunus said.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that these specialist doctors were not wrong in choosing FK UNS as a place to study.

"I thank you for choosing FK UNS as a place of education, and this is not wrong because based on the ranking from Time Higher Education, FK UNS is currently ranked 3rd in Indonesia," Prof. Reviono mentioned.

Apart from that, Prof. Reviono also advised that the new specialist doctors who are now alumni can maintain the good name of UNS and continue to maintain good relations with colleagues and with the alma mater.

Hospital Director Dr. Moewardi Surakarta, Dr. Cahyono Hadi, dr., Sp.OG., S.H congratulated the doctors on their graduation and advised that these new specialist doctors be ready to face competition with doctors from abroad.

"In the health transformation, we will be fighting with doctors from abroad so you have to study a lot and read a lot," he said.

With the release of specialist doctors this November, the UNS Faculty of Medicine, since its founding in 1976, has graduated 1824 (one thousand eight hundred and twenty four) specialist doctors, who have spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various agencies in the field of health services, education, research, as well as specialist doctors for the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.
