To give appreciation to students who have achieved achievements at regional, national and international levels throughout 2023, the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held an Appreciation Night (Mapres) for Students with Achievements in 2023 on Saturday (2/12/2023).

Located in the Ballroom of the Ki Hadjar Dewantara Building, UNS, about 300 students were given medals and certificates by the leadership of FK UNS as appreciation for the achievements they had achieved.

For information, based on the ranking released by the Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE WUR) by subject, FK UNS is ranked third in Indonesia. THE WUR uses 18 indicators in 5 areas, one of which is student reputation. This was conveyed by the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K) in his speech stated that one of the achievements of the FK UNS ranking was thanks to contributions from students.

"With this activity, I will continue to try to give appreciation to students because what FK UNS is currently achieving cannot be separated from student contributions. After the first to third sessions, regional and national level awards will be given, later in the final awarding session appreciation will be given to students who have achieved achievements at the international level," he said.

Several international awards were won by FK UNS students, such as 1st place in the Best Thesis Young Investigator Award in the name of Dr. Herlambang Pranandaru in the 2023 SICOT International Trainees and Young Surgeons Meeting; 2nd Place in Photography under the name Kyra Modesty in the International Association of Art Photographers competition; Favorite Winner of the 2023 Seoul International Digestive Disease Symposium Scientific Poster in the name of Aiman Hilmi Asaduddin; Favorite Poster nomination on behalf of Roisya Nur Farhania at the 2023 Seoul International Digestive Disease Symposium; Grand Travel in the name of Dr. Evi Nurhayatun, dr., Sp.PD., M.Kes., FINASIM in the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Korean Society of Nephrology and many other awards won by FK UNS students in the field of international journal publications.

Apart from giving appreciation to outstanding students, this event was enlivened by the performance of the Scarta Band Group from UKM Students, the FK UNS Education Staff Band Group, the Medical Rock Band, Gladhi Beksan and a Puppet Show from Wahyu Suminar.

By giving this appreciation, it is hoped that it will be a spur for other students to follow in the footsteps of their friends who have achieved achievements so that they can improve the quality of FK UNS students.
