PPDS Radiology FK UNS Holds Community Service Activities at Car Free Day in Solo City
In commemoration of International Radiology Day which is celebrated every November 8 and coincides with the Birthday of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) as well as commemorating National Health Day which is celebrated every November 12, the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) Radiology Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held a Community Service activity which was held on Sunday (12/11/2023) located on Jalan Slamet Riyadi Surakarta.
This activity, which coincided with Car Free Day, included group exercise, talk shows about radiology and free health checks for the community including blood pressure checks, blood sugar and uric acid laboratories.
The enthusiasm of the people of Solo City to have their health checked was very high, this could be seen by the queue of dozens of people waiting for an examination by the resident doctor PPDS Radiology FK UNS.
Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), who was present and opened this activity, really supports activities that can bring benefits to the community.

"As leaders at the Faculty of Medicine, of course we support activities like this, because one of the Tri Dharmas of Higher Education is community service," he said
Prof. Reviono further said that if education is taught to practice 3 things in community service.
"The first is how to introduce the findings from the research and convey them to the community, the second is how to apply the knowledge gained from lecturers or consultants and then apply that expertise to the community, and the third is in special cases such as disaster management and so on," he explained.

Deputy Director of Hospital Services Dr. Moewardi, Dr. Heri Dwi Purnomo, Sp.An in his speech advised doctors to also maintain their health so they can provide optimal service when serving the community.
"I hope that all of you will also maintain your health, there are two things that must be maintained. The first is enthusiasm, enthusiasm must continue to be maintained to learn and work to serve. "The second thing is to maintain a strong physique so that we can provide maximum service," he said.
Head of the FK UNS Radiology Study Program, dr. Rachmi Fauziah Rahayu, Sp.Rad (K) hoped that community service activities like this can provide education to the community and raise awareness about health.
"My hope is that this morning's social service will have many benefits for the people of Solo and its surroundings, especially in cancer cases," Dr. Rachmi said.
This activity also invited the Lovely Pink Solo Foundation (LPS), which is a community of breast cancer survivors in the city of Solo.
