Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program of FK UNS Undergoes Accreditation Field Assessment from LAM-PTKes

As a Study Program (Prodi) that has the vision of becoming a center for specialist medical education in obstetrics and gynecology with a global perspective and international reputation, excelling in the field of community-oriented reproductive health, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) must undergo a process accreditation from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Health Universities (LAM-PTKes) as a form of quality assurance for a study program in carrying out the educational process.

Dr. Muhammad Rusda, M.Ked., Sp.O.G., Subsp. F.E.R and Prof. Dr. Dewa Gede Ugrasena, Sp.A (K) was assigned by LAM-PTKes to carry out a field assessment at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program FK UNS on 12-14 September 2023 as part of a series of accreditation processes that must be carried out.

The two assessors were received by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum; Acting Officer UNS Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S; Acting Officer Vice Dean at FK UNS; and Acting Officer Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program FK UNS, Dr. M. Adrianes Bachnas, dr., Sp.O.G, Subsp. K.Fm in the Rector's Meeting Room, UNS Prakosa Building.

Prof. Jamal in his speech said that this accreditation activity is a routine activity but is very important for an educational institution.

"The quality and progress of higher education institutions is measured by accreditation. We should be proud that many at UNS have received superior accreditation that exceeds the targets that have been set. "And we also need to convey that at UNS only 32% are internationally accredited, therefore we really encourage others to immediately follow," Prof. Jamal said.

On this occasion Prof. Jamal also conveyed several advantages of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program, FK UNS, such as full support from a service-based teaching hospital, having a strong alumni network both at national and international levels, a superior curriculum accompanied by community-oriented strengthening, supported by reputable teaching staff. national and international, and has excellent facilities and means to support the educational process.

After being welcomed directly by the UNS Rector, the two assessors headed to the FK UNS Auditorium to continue field assessment activities.

Acting Officer Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs, FK UNS, Paramasari Dirgahayu, dr., Ph.D. hopes that this activity can run smoothly and can produce results that will benefit everyone.

"Hopefully this field assessment activity can run smoothly and we also ask for guidance and direction from the two assessors during this assessment process. "However, hopefully the suggestions from the assessors can make us better in the future," Dr. Paramasari said.

Dr. Rusda in his speech hoped that what would be seen in the field would be much better than what had been previously reported.

"So our arrival here is to see firsthand, to equate what has been written in the study program performance documents and self-evaluation reports with the realization in the field. "Our hope is that what we see here is much better than what has been reported in the documents," Dr. Rusda said.

After listening to the presentation from the Deputy Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs and the Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program, the two assessors conducted a question and answer session followed by interviews with lecturers regarding lecturer adequacy figures and the learning curriculum provided to students, apart from that, interviews were also conducted with representatives. students about academic and non-academic services.

Apart from that, the assessors also directly inspected the conditions at Dr. Moewardi and UNS Hospitals to see directly the facilities and infrastructure as well as the process of teaching and learning activities for residents at the two hospitals.

This series of field assessment processes closed with the signing and submission of activity minutes signed by the two assessors, the Deputy Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs, FK UNS and the Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program, FK UNS.
