FK UNS Releases 23 New Specialist Doctors for the Period of August 2023


Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universits Sebelas Maret (UNS) through the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) on Thursday (24/6/2023) again released new specialist doctors who had graduated from FK UNS. This event was attended by Acting Officer Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S; Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); the deputy deans of FK UNS, Acting Deputy General Director of Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta, dr. Ikhwan Hamza; Deputy Director of Education and Research at UNS Hospital, Tonang Dwi Ardyanto, Sp.P.K., Ph.D; as well as all the Heads of the FK UNS PPDS Study Program.

During the release of specialist doctors for the August period, the UNS Faculty of Medicine released 23 new specialist doctors. It should be noted that of the 23 participants mentioned above, there were 4 recipients of the Ministry of Health's Study Assignment scholarships, and to date the number of graduates receiving the Ministry of Health's Study Assignment scholarships has reached 323 people.

Based on the academic report read by the Vice Dean for Human Resources, Finance and Logistics, Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S (K), 23 release participants consisting of 10 people from the Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Study Program, 3 people from the Surgery Study Program, 2 people from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program, 7 people from Psychiatry Study Program, 1 person from the Clinical Pathology Study Program.

In this release, there were participants with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) achieved by Hendra Priatna Munandar, dr., Sp.P (NIM S601902007) with a GPA of 3.89 from the Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Study Program. Meanwhile, the youngest graduate at the PPDS Release this time was Muhammad Faizal, dr., Sp.O.G from the Obstetrics and Gynecology PPDS Study Program and was 28 years and 11 months old at the time of graduation.

dr. Aditya Alfarizi, Sp.P, representing the graduates, in his speech said he was proud to be a student at UNS Medical Faculty and is proof of the hard work and persistence in studying all this time.

“Today is proof that persistence and hard work will produce good results that we may not have imagined. We hope that we can apply the experience and knowledge we get from our teachers, help and implement it as best we can for the wider community because in essence good knowledge is useful knowledge so that when we practice it the rewards will flow to our teachers,” dr. Aditya said.

Deputy Director General and Finance, RSUD Dr. Moewardi, dr. Ikhwan Hamzah congratulated on the graduation of specialist doctors.

"Congratulations on your graduation, our message is that colleagues can apply their knowledge, devote themselves, in their respective areas. Take the good things that were good while studying here and leave the bad ones behind," he said.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that it was time for the specialist who had just been appointed to show his identity.

“Each era has its own challenges, as well as during your time, all the challenges were different from when I was in the past. But I am sure that PPDS FK UNS graduates have been equipped with lecturers and instructors with competence and knowledge on how to interact, how to understand health problems in Indonesia," Prof. Reviono said.

"I order 3 things so that all of you become good medical specialists, namely professionalism, integrity, and increasing networks. If you can do all of that well, then I believe you will be successful in becoming a good doctor as well as a good person," Prof. Reviono said.

With the release of specialist doctors for this August period, the Faculty of Medicine UNS since its establishment in 1976, has graduated 1732 (one thousand seven hundred and thirty two) specialist doctors, who have spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions both in the field of health services, education, research, as well as specialist doctors in the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.
