Doctoral Program of Public Health Sciences FK UNS Undergo Accreditation Assessment from LAM-PTKes
To produce graduates of public health experts with Doctoral (S3) academic program who are highly competent and have noble character, especially in disease prevention and control, the Doctoral Program of Public Health Sciences (IKM) Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) must undergo a re-accreditation process as a form of quality assurance of a study program in carrying out the educational process.
Prof. Dr. Chatarina Umbul Wahyuni, dr., M.S., M.P.H and Dr. Drs. Sutanto Priyo Hastono, M.Kes was assigned by LAM-PTKes to conduct a field assessment at the S3 IKM FK UNS Study Program on 7-8 August 2023.
Taking place in the Rector's Meeting Room, UNS Prakosa Building, the two assessors were received directly by Plt. UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum; Plt. Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S; YNS FK Dean, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); Plt. Deputy Dean of FK UNS and Head of IKM FK UNS S3 Study Program, Prof. Ari Natalia Probandari, dr., M.P.H., P.hD.
In his remarks, Prof. Jamal said that the S3 IKM FK UNS Study Program had several advantages, such as excellence in the field of international cooperation with universities abroad, excellence in the reputation of international and national lecturers, excellence in student achievement at both international and national levels and the existence of innovative products from lecturers and students.
Prof. Jamal also assessed that the management of the S3 IKM FK UNS study program was very good because all of them already had a clear system.

"So, the management of the S3 IKM FK UNS study program is digital-based management, including a very systematic quality assurance system," Prof. Jamal explained.
Dr. Drs. Sutanto Priyo Hastono, M.Kes said that this accreditation is related to quality so that the assessment will be seen based on quality.
"Quality will be accountable to the public later, and if we talk about quality, it means that there is already an SPMI, if this SPMI has been implemented properly, we will now check it with SPME," Dr. Sutanto said.
According to him, so far many people think that the accreditation process is a scary thing, even though according to him, with this field assessment, it will be known whether the system implemented in managing the study program is good or not.
"In fact, if later there are findings in the field, it will be used as evaluation material so that in the future it can be even better, because this accreditation is like a mirror that will be able to see what deficiencies we have," he explained.
Prof. Reviono as the Dean of FK UNS hopes that the results obtained in this accreditation can be better than the previous accreditation, and do not forget that he hopes for input from the assessors to improve the quality of the S3 IKM FK UNS study program in the future.
"We certainly ask for input, both from the substance of this accreditation or whatever we have to fix. We have tried our best to prepare for this accreditation, hopefully it will not disappoint the assessors. We hope to get maximum accreditation results," Prof. Reviono said.
The activity which was held in the Auditorium of FK UNS lasted for two days with the agenda on the first day being presentations from faculty leaders and study program leaders as well as questions and answers with assessors followed by interviews with students and alumni. On the second day, interviews were held with lecturers, educational staff and users of graduates from the S3 IKM FK UNS study program and closed with the signing of the minutes of the field assessment results.
