FK UNS Becomes Host of UNS Roving Tarawih (Tarling) Ramadhan 1444 H

During the month of Ramadhan 1444 H, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held a traveling Tarawih (Tarling) activity which was held in rotation in each faculty within UNS. On Friday (31/3/2023) the Faculty of Medicine (FK) had its turn to host the event.

Taking place at the Rahmi Mosque FK UNS, the tarling activity was attended by dozens of congregations. Present at this activity was the Vice Rector for General Affairs and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. Bandi, M.Sc., Ak.; Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T.; UNS Deans and Vice Deans as well as education staff and FK UNS students.

At the tarawih prayer this time, acting as an imam was a resident student of the Pediatrics Study Program, dr. Mohamad Rif'an Maulana, who is also the winner of the Medical Quran Festival in the 2023 Medical Fiesta.

Vice Director of Education and Research at UNS Hospital, dr. Tonang Dwi Ardyanto, Sp.PK., Ph.D, in a study after the Tarawih prayer, conveyed the development of the cell life cycle which can be reflected in human life in self-development.

According to dr. Tonang, the cell life cycle is the maximum preparation and self-check (check-point) at each phase change. When it feels ready and really mature, the cells will grow to form the next generation.

"But if the results of this self-inspection still show something is missing, then the cell will make an auto repair effort (self-repair). If this effort is successful, then the cell will be able to enter the growth phase. Even though it had to stop for a while, in the end it still managed to pass on to the next generation with the expected quality. Those are the phases of cell growth that can proceed smoothly, naturally and with dignity," he further explained.

But according to him, if it turns out that the auto-repair mechanism doesn't work, then it's better for cells to 'stop' forever, rather than forcing themselves to produce next generations that don't live up to expectations.

"Stay dignified, because it is better for other cells to grow and produce successors, rather than being persistent but actually destroying the environment," he concluded.

Vice Rector for General Affairs and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. Bandi, M.Sc., Ak, in his remarks thanked the leadership and academic community of FK UNS for hosting the tarling this time.

"If the Nurul Huda Mosque is focused on student tarling activities, PAI UNS will hold tarling in these faculties focused on lecturers and education staff," Prof. Bandi said.

According to him, this activity serves as a balancer in life, after a tiring day at work, worshiping in congregation and drawing closer to God can relax the heart and mind in order to create physical and spiritual balance.
