PPDS Neurology FK UNS Undergo Accreditation Field Assessment from LAM-PTKes


 

As a Study Program (Prodi) that has a vision of producing superior and quality graduates in their fields, the Neurology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) must undergo an accreditation process from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Higher Education Health (LAM-PTKes) as a form of guarantee the quality of a study program in carrying out the educational process.

Dr. Abdul Gofir, dr., M.Sc., Sp.S(K) and Dr. Abdulloh Machin, dr., Sp.N(K) was assigned by LAM-PTKes to conduct a field assessment at the Neurology Study Program FK UNS on March 20-21 2023.

Before starting the field assessment on the first day, the two assessors were received by UNS Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S in the Chancellor's Meeting Room, UNS Prakosa Building.

On this occasion Prof. Yunus said that UNS will always improve the quality of education.

"With UNS entering PTNBH in 2020, there is a stronger commitment to continue to improve the quality of education at UNS. In addition, we also continue to improve the quality of laboratories in UNS to support our educational process," Prof. Yunus said.

On this occasion Prof. Yunus also explained the various advantages possessed by the Neurology Study Program FK UNS, one of which is the first taker pass rate in the Neurology Study Program FK UNS reaching 94% with an average Grade Point Average above 3.5. In addition, the Neurology Study Program FK UNS also has the Magna Neurologica Journal to support students in pursuing their studies.

Deputy Director of Services at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dr. Moewardi, dr. Heri Dwi Purnomo, Sp.An hopes that this accreditation can have a big impact.

"I hope that this accreditation can have a big impact on the quality of education at Dr Moewardi Hospital and FK UNS while at the same time improving the quality of education can also improve the quality of service, which we are currently working hard to improve service quality," dr. Harry said.

He hopes that as a government-owned hospital it can serve very well for its patients, so that it can further increase public trust.

According to him, the results of accreditation are indeed important, but there are more important things, namely quality improvement and follow-up of recommendations from assessors so that the Neurology study program of FK UNS can develop even better.

UNS Faculty of Medicine Dean, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K) hopes that this activity can run smoothly and can get results that benefit everyone.

"We hope that the adequacy value that we have uploaded when examined directly is more beautiful than the existing one and hopefully this activity can run well and bring benefits to all parties," Prof. Reviono said.

Dr. Abdul Gofir, dr., M.Sc., Sp.S(K) in his speech said that managing a study program is like a batik maker holding a canting, it requires adequate knowledge, high artistic taste and skills in holding a canting, it requires perseverance, patient, and full of innovation which can produce beautiful batik cloth in this case produce graduates who are virtuous, knowledgeable, and have a good attitude in service, education, community service so that they become people who are useful for the homeland, nation and country.

“This accreditation is a normal thing to maintain the quality of education. Thank God, we are grateful to be able to become assessors for the Neurology Study Program, who, God willing, are quite at the forefront of Indonesia,” Dr. Gofir concluded.

After listening to the presentation from the Dean of FK UNS and the Head of the Study Program and conducting a question and answer session, the two assessors made a visit to the Main Teaching Hospital, namely RSUD Dr. Moewardi and UNS Hospital.

At the end of the field assessment on the first day, interviews were held by the two assessors with the lecturers about the adequacy rate of the lecturers and the learning curriculum provided to students, in addition to that, interviews were also conducted with student representatives about academic and non-academic services.

On the second day of the field assessment, the minutes of the accreditation field assessment were signed, a memento was handed over to the two assessors and a group photo.
