The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) UNS, and the DWP FK UNS Implementing Unit (UP) in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Surakarta, the UNS Medical Center and the Volunteer Corps (KSR) UNS, on Tuesday (21/2/2023) held a routine blood donation activity which took place in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine. There were 53 blood donor registrants who participated in this event.

Present at this event was UNS Vice Rector General and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. Bandi, M.Sc., Ak; Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); Director of the Medical Center, Dr. Muhammad Eko Irawanto, dr., Sp.KK and all the management and members of DWP UNS.

Dean of FK UNS Prof. Reviono in his speech hoped that activities like this should continue because it really helps people who need blood supplies.

"Of course this really helps our neighbors who lack blood and also when one day we don't know for some reason, we need blood, we will feel how very meaningful the availability of this blood is," Prof. Reviono said.

UNS Deputy Chancellor for General Affairs and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. Bandi, M.Sc., Ak said that this blood donation activity is a routine activity held every month at UNS.

"So, as we know, this activity is a routine activity that we carry out every month, in January it was held at the Faculty of Agriculture, this month at the Faculty of Medicine and in March it will be held at the University along with a series of UNS Anniversary activities," prof. Bandi explained.

Of the 53 applicants, 43 passed the screening to donate blood. On this occasion a donor on behalf of L. Setyo Budi, S.IP has donated his blood 126 times since 1988. Prof. Bandi and Head of DWP UNS, Budhi Widjayanti Jamal Wiwoho for inspiring other donors to continue to share with others through blood donation.
