FK UNS Inaugurates and Takes the Hippocratic Oath of 64 New Doctors
The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) again held an Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking event on Saturday (11/02/2023). The Doctor's Inauguration and Oath Hippocratic Oath Taking is the 222nd period that has been held by the UNS Faculty of Medicine since its establishment in 1976. A total of 64 participants took part in this event consisting of 24 male participants and 40 female participants.
Participants in this activity were those who had passed the Medical Profession Program Student Competency Examination (UKMPPD) which was held in November 2022. 67 participants participated in the UKMPPD with 64 participants graduating (96%) while the first taker graduation rate as many as 63 people (99%) from 64 participants.
This activity was attended by UNS Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S. He represented the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., who was unable to attend the event.
Prof. Yunus said that the world of medicine is currently experiencing very fast changes, so that new doctors are required to be able to adjust well.
“Currently, the world of health, both in Indonesia and in the world, is experiencing very fast changes, especially after experiencing a pandemic. This is believed to make changes in various aspects and fields of medicine. Not to mention the development of technological leaps or Artificial Intelligence in the medical field. So new doctors are required to improve their competencies and qualifications that are relevant to the demands of these changes," Prof. Yunus explained.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs of FK UNS, Paramasari Dirgahayu, dr., Ph.D, in her remarks on behalf of the Dean of FK UNS who was unable to attend said that the new batch of doctors was the batch who used to study during the pandemic.
"We are very proud that this class is a qualified class, even the results of the competency exam pass 99%. This proves that the synergy of Dr. Moewardi, parents of students and students are well connected in academic terms," dr. Paramasari mentioned.
Vice Director for Services at the Regional General Hospital Dr. Moewardi Surakarta, Dr. Heri Dwi Purnomo, dr., Sp.An(K), on this occasion hoped that new doctors will not only feel enough with their medical degree but have aspirations to be able to study as specialist doctors.
"We still need a lot of general practitioners, let alone specialist doctors, so in this case we invite all new doctors not to be complacent and immediately continue their education to the level of specialist doctors after completing all their obligations," said dr. Heri.
He further conveyed that apart from academic matters, he advised that these new doctors maintain their attitude, behaviour and discipline after later joining the community with a new title so that the professionalism of doctors is maintained properly.
Head of the UNS Faculty of Medicine Alumni Family (KA), Dr. Sri Pratomo, dr., Sp.B., FINACS, FICS, who also attended this event advised the new doctors that by taking the doctor's oath it signifies the struggle and dedication as a new doctor is starting.
"I hope these new doctors can develop themselves and provide services to people in need. You can occupy various strategic positions in society, you can become great doctors, you can become great academics, you can become great entrepreneurs, but you need to remember that everything you do must be done sincerely and diligently so that you can always be the best in the world. the culprit," dr. Sri Pratomo said.
Representative of New Doctor, dr. Giras Revindasasti, in his speech expressed his gratitude for the knowledge gained while studying at the UNS Faculty of Medicine.
"I would like to thank our teachers, our professors and senior doctors who have guided and educated us at Dr. Moewardi, at the UNS Hospital, as well as at the network hospitals and health centers where we studied," he said.
According to him, with the knowledge they have gained, they should never feel satisfied and do not feel arrogant.
"Never feel satisfied, never feel arrogant, keep learning, stay thirsty for knowledge, keep being a long life learner," he concluded.
At the Doctor's Inauguration and Oath Taking this time, there were 13 participants with the Cumlaude predicate and the highest of Grade Point Average (GPA) was won by Fathia Fauzia Rahmah with a GPA of 3.82. With the inauguration of the 222nd period doctor today, since its establishment in 1976 the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret, has graduated 6,902 (six thousand nine hundred and two) doctors, who have spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions both in the field health services, education, research, as well as doctors in the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.
