Dean of FK UNS Inaugurates 19 Heads of Student Organizations (Ormawa) for the 2023 Period

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS), Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), officially inaugurated 19 Heads of Student Organization (Ormawa) FK UNS Period 2023 on Friday (06/01/2023), in the Auditorium of FK UNS. Ormawa is a place for students to develop their own capacities as students in the form of aspirations, initiations, or positive and creative ideas through participation in various relevant activities.

This activity was also attended by the Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs; Deputy Dean of Human Resources, Finance and Logistics; Deputy Dean of Planning, Business Cooperation and Information; Ormawa supervisor lecturer; FK academic coordinator; related FK staff; as well as the Ormawa chairmen for the 2022 period. Through this activity, apart from inaugurating the new Ormawa chairman, the Dean also dismissed the previous Ormawa chairmen with honor.

In his remarks, the Dean of FK UNS said that student activities must not stop and there is always continuity between the old and the new. Because the achievements obtained will also affect the increase in the ranking of Higher Education.

"What is being competed with other faculties or universities, based on the increase in higher education rankings, are two, namely: lecturers and students. So student achievement is there. The achievements that can be contested can be in the field of reasoning (academic or scientific), then it can also be in the fields of sports, the arts, and also organizations, both at international and national levels which will affect the ranking of tertiary institutions and of course for faculties as well," Prof. Reviono explained .

Prof. Reviono also explained that the Ormawa supervisors were ready to help, and the faculty also provided the best possible facilities and infrastructure to support the acquisition of student achievements in both academic and non-academic fields. So that it is expected that every student can get an award of at least one achievement during the learning process. He also hopes that the newly appointed Ormawa leaders can coordinate their colleagues to get achievements.

“Environmental factors and the existing conditions have led to a downward trend in recent years, perhaps due to the pandemic or being preoccupied with something that is actually less productive. So those will be the tasks of all of you who are the current head of student organizations, how to awaken your colleagues who, after entering according to their passions in each of these UKM, to be even more active and make achievements. In FK UNS, the input of students who enter is high, because the strictness score is high, it is in the top 10 of the national law enforcement ranking. It should be continuous, good input will produce good achievements," Prof. Reviono said to the newly appointed Ormawa chairman.

In closing his remarks, Prof. Reviono also appreciated the Ormawa chairs for the 2022 period who had worked well during their tenure. This event was symbolically closed by handing over the Ormawa flag from the old board to the new board.
