FK UNS Releases New Specialist Doctors for the Period of December 2022


The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) through the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) on Friday (16/12/2022), held a Specialist Doctors Farewell Event for the December 2022 Period. This event was attended by UNS Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S; Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); the vice deans of FK UNS, Vice Services Director of Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta, Heri Dwi Purnomo, dr., Sp.An; Vice Director of Education and Research at UNS Hospital, Tonang Dwi Ardyanto, Sp.P.K., Ph.D; as well as all the Heads of the FK UNS PPDS Study Program.

The release event was attended by 15 PPDS FK UNS students from 5 Study Programs (Prodi). 4 of the participants were recipients of the Ministry of Health Study Assignment Scholarship. In this release, there were participants with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) achieved by Gigih Fitriawan, dr., Sp.P.D (NIM S961808009) with a GPA of 3.90 from the Internal Medicine Study Program and Alexandra, dr., Sp.P.K (NIM S971902001) from the Clinical Pathology Study Program. Apart from being awarded the title of graduate with the highest GPA, dr. Alexandra was also recorded as the youngest graduate with an age of 29 years and 8 months at graduation.

Based on the report of the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs FK UNS, dr. Paramasari Dirgahayu, Ph.D., the 15 discharge participants consisted of one student from the Heart and Vascular Study Program, three students from the Surgery Study Program, six students from the Pediatrics Study Program, one student from the Internal Medicine Study Program, and four students of Clinical Pathology Study Program.

As many as four students who took part in the release were recipients of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Study Scholarship of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). Until now, a total of 317 UNS PPDS graduates have received the scholarship.

dr. Raden Mas Rahadian Wahyu Barata, Sp.JP, representing the graduates, in his speech expressed his gratitude for all the guidance and teaching provided by the campus during the process of studying. Graduation momentum is interpreted as the right time to reflect on the meaning of graduation. He hopes that PPDS FK UNS will continue to develop in the future.

"Hopefully in the future, PPDS FK UNS will continue to develop, excel, and produce specialist doctors who are competent and have an international reputation," he said.

The Head of the FK UNS Alumni Family, dr. Sri Pratomo, Sp.B, FInaCS, FICS advised graduates to stick to competence and maintain three things.

“You have to stick to competence. Competence is different from being able, competence has its own criteria. So, ladies and gentlemen, you have to understand correctly what the competencies are. Please hold on to three things that we must remember, firstly take care of colleagues, secondly maintain politeness, and maintain togetherness," he said.

Deputy Director of Service, RSUD Dr. Moewardi, dr. Heri Dwi Purnomo, Sp.An. congratulations on graduating specialist doctor.

"Congratulations on your graduation, hopefully what will become memories at Moewardi will be well received by you. We are trying to educate you to be a polite, qualified and dignified doctor," he said.

The Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono in his speech said that it was time for the specialist who had just been appointed to show his identity.

“To the newly graduated medical specialists, it's time to show your true self. UNS students are resilient, they have been prepared to become important people," Prof. Reviono said.

Prof. Ahmad Yunus, who gave the last speech, also advised that PPDS FK UNS graduates continue to improve their competence and dedication in the community.

"We ask our new medical specialist colleagues to continue to improve their competence and dedication in the community and maintain their integrity and noble professional values in carrying out their duties," Prof. Ahmad Yunus said.

With the release of specialist doctors for the December 2022 period, since its establishment in 1976, the Faculty of Medicine, UNS, has graduated 1585 (one thousand five hundred and eighty five) specialist doctors, who have spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions both in the field of public health services. health, education, research, as well as specialist doctors for the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.
