The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in addition to continuously trying to complete various facilities related to the academic field, also strives to provide non-academic facilities as a means of channelling the interests and talents of students.

After inaugurating the futsal and basketball courts at the Medical Sport Center complex last April, FK UNS on Friday (4/11/2022) inaugurated the climbing wall which was built in front of the F building of the UNS Faculty of Medicine.

The Rector of Universitas of Sebelas Maret (UNS), Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum, along with members of the RKPU who attended this event after visiting the Experimental Animal Laboratory of FK UNS, had the opportunity to witness Adhip Fajar, a student of FK UNS who is part of the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Vagus rapling from a height of 15 meters. After landing smoothly without any problems, Adhip gave a t-shirt with the inscription Vagus to the Chancellor of UNS.

In his statement, Prof. Jamal advised that the existing facilities be treated properly.

"I hope that all the excellent facilities at the Faculty of Medicine can be well maintained and cared for, not only by students but by all the academics here," he said.

The Head of the FK UNS Student Council, dr. R. Prihandjojo Andri Putranto., M.Si, said that with the existence of wall climbing, the hobbies of nature lovers can be channeled.

“In the past, we used to have a climbing wall, but the construction has been damaged for a long time so it can't be used anymore. Now we make it nicer and taller than before. Hopefully it can be used as a medium for distributing hobbies for students who love nature,” he explained.

"This wall climbing, even though the place is in the Faculty of Medicine, belongs to all students at UNS, all can use it but still with the borrowing procedures and scheduling that have been arranged," he continued.

Besides being attended by the Chancellor of UNS and members of the RKPU, the inauguration of the wall climbing was also attended by representatives of Nature Lovers UKM in each faculty within UNS.
