Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) as an educational institution does not only focus on academic values but also strives to maintain the noble values of national culture. This is reflected in the many cultural arts activities held at UNS. One of the activities regularly held by UNS is art and cultural performances which are carried out regularly every month with each faculty taking turns being the organizer.

The Faculty of Medicine (FK) this month had the opportunity to hold an art and cultural performance with the title “Karsa Hawujud Kinarya”. The activity took place on Sunday (11/9/2022) at the Hall of the Center for Excellence in Science and Technology (PUI) Javanology UNS.

The event was attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum; Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S; Vice Rector of General Affairs and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. Bandi, M.Si.Ak; Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T, M.T; Director of UNS Hospital, Prof. Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si; The Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono, as well as several deans and vice deans of faculties and schools within UNS.

This cultural arts performance featured many performances from the academic community of FK UNS. These performances included Parody of 1000 Towers, Medical Rock Band, Gladhi Beksan, Faculty of Medicine (GBFK), SCC Band, Indonesian Love Dance, and dance performances from FK students batch 2022.

The event was opened by the Chancellor of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho by handing over the gunungan to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Reviono.

In his speech, Prof. Reviono as the Dean of FK UNS said that the art performance held by FK entitled Karsa Haunjuk Kinarya was a form of love from the UNS academic community for Indonesian cultural arts.

“All the performers in this event are from the academic community at FK UNS, both undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate students, Psychology, Midwifery to the Specialist Doctors Education Program (PPDS) as well as education staff and lecturers. So, UNS is not only pursuing academics, but also arts and culture. It's like being able to relax the nerves," said Prof. Reviono.

UNS Chancellor, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho also appreciated the cultural arts performances organized by FK UNS.

“Tonight is so beautiful, reflected in the amazing backdrop and layout of the art from FK in this cultural performance. Appreciation to FK who has prepared a good and neat performance. Appreciation for involving all S-1 to S-3 study programs, all participating in the success of the show tonight," said Prof. Jamal.

He added that this cultural performance was continuously held once a month in rotation in all faculties. This is also to realize the big vision of UNS which wants to excel at the international level based on the noble values of national culture.
