The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK-UNS) again held the Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking on Saturday (6/08/2022). The Doctor's Inauguration and Oath was a period of 220 which has been held by the Faculty of Medicine UNS, since its establishment in 1976. A total of 141 participants attended this event consisting of 37 male participants and 104 female participants.

Participants in this activity were those who have passed the Medical Profession Program Student Competency Examination (UKMPPD) which was held in May 2022. The UKMPPD was attended by 144 participants with 141 participants (98%) passing while the first taker passing rate was 140 people (98.5%).

Representatives of New Doctors, dr. Irfan Syarif in his speech expressed his gratitude for the knowledge gained during his education at the Faculty of Medicine, UNS.

"On this occasion, I represent 141 new doctors to thank all those who have contributed in every carving of our life story, from the beginning we entered the Faculty of Medicine until today," he said.

The Chairperson of the Alumni Association (IKA) of FK UNS, Sri Pratomo, dr., Sp.B., FINACS, FICS who also attended this event advised new doctors to continue to carry out 3K, namely fellowship, politeness, and togetherness. In addition, he also emphasized the importance of understanding the contents of the oath that had been uttered.

“I hope that the doctor's oath is not only to be memorized, but also to be internalized. How since the fetus is not born until the patient dies, everything is our responsibility," dr. Sri Pratomo said.

Vice Director for Regional General Services of Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta, Dr. Heri Dwi Purnomo, dr., Sp.An(K) on this occasion hoped that there will be new regulations that can accommodate new doctors with achievements to be able to study as specialist doctors at UNS.

“We hope that there will be a new regulation from the university to accommodate those with the best rankings to enter specialist (educational) Dr. Hospital. Moewardi so that when we need regeneration, we have many choices of qualified doctors,” he said.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K) said that these new doctors must have high integrity in order to be successful in becoming good doctors.

“Integrity is about your own qualities, for example honesty, discipline, ethical manners. It all becomes a currency that has a high value and sells everywhere. If you have high integrity then you will be accepted anywhere,” Prof. Reviono said.

At the Inauguration and Taking the Doctor's Oath this time, there was 1 participant with the Cumlaude predicate and the highest of Grade Point Average (GPA) was achieved by Maria Angela Sasono with a GPA of 3.86. With the inauguration of doctors for the 220th period today, since the establishment in 1976 the Faculty of Medicine, Sebelas Maret University, has graduated 6,823 (Six thousand eight hundred and twenty-three) doctors, who have spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions. both in the field of health services, education, research, as well as government doctors, private, TNI / POLRI and others.
