FK UNS Establishes Cooperation with PT Pertamina Bina Medika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (Pertamedika IHC)
The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) on Friday (22/07/2022) received a visit from representatives from PT Pertamina Bina Medika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (Pertamedika IHC) in order to sign a cooperation agreement. The representative from Pertamedika IHC was received by the Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum and the ranks of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UNS in the Rector's office before moving to the auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine UNS to sign a cooperation agreement.
During his visit this time, the Vice President of Human Capital and General Affairs of PT Pertamina Bina Medika, dr. Riny Utami, expressed her gratitude for the collaboration between Pertamedika IHC and the Faculty of Medicine UNS.
“We thank you very much, Mr. Chancellor, Mr. Dean, for this collaboration, although in fact it is still just the beginning of the assessment, but we have received extraordinary support like this, I hope this will be a very good start for the future. So, this collaboration is not only in the field of education, the need for placement of specialist doctors but also later on other things," he said.
The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum hopes that in addition to cooperation in the field of education, in the future there can also be cooperation in the development of the UNS Hospital.
"We have a UNS Hospital which still has large enough land to be developed again, hopefully cooperation can be realized in its future development with Pertamedika," Prof. Jamal mentioned.
The signing of the cooperation agreement was carried out directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K)., with Vice President of Human Capital and General Affairs of PT Pertamina Bina Medika, dr. Riny Utami in the auditorium building of the Faculty of Medicine, UNS.
The purpose of signing this cooperation agreement is to provide career opportunities for graduates of the UNS Faculty of Medicine, Pertamedika IHC also prepares scholarships for selected UNS Medical Faculty students who meet the requirements by covering all educational costs from the time they enter lectures until they graduate.
Pertamedika IHC has 76 hospitals and 143 clinics spread throughout Indonesia which still need a lot of medical personnel either doctors, nurses or midwives so that this collaboration is expected to accelerate the fulfillment of medical personnel needs for Pertamedika IHC while also providing opportunities for graduates from Faculty of Medicine UNS to be able to have a career with Pertamedika IHC.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), is very grateful for the collaboration with Pertamedika IHC and hopes that many benefits will result from this collaboration.
"We are very grateful for this collaboration, so this is a matching collaboration where we need and from Pertamedika IHC provides something like that so it can also be useful for the interests of the nation and state," he said.
He further said that if a cooperation agreement should not be limited to writing, it must be able to produce fruit products from the cooperation.
“We have to be careful because many of the MoU’s are still in writing. Hopefully this collaboration can actually produce useful products because the results of this collaboration are very much needed by the community," he concluded.
This activity was not only filled with the procession of signing a cooperation agreement, there was also Question and Answer session between UNS Medical Faculty students and Pertamedika IHC regarding career paths and scholarships offered by Pertamedika IHC.
