Capping Day for Semester 6 Students of the Midwifery Study Program FK UNS


 

Students of the Midwifery Study Program (Prodi) of the Applied Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) in attending lectures not only gain knowledge in theory but also undergo practice in the field. The purpose of this practical activity is to implement the theory that has been obtained directly to the patient.

One of the practical activities undertaken by students of the Applied Undergraduate Midwifery Study Program at FK UNS is the Midwifery Clinical Practice (PKK). This practice itself is divided into several stages, namely Midwifery Clinical Practice I (Physiological), Midwifery Clinical Practice II (Physiological) and Midwifery Clinical Practice III (Pathological) and Community Midwifery Practice, all of which are carried out in approximately one month.

Before carrying out the PKK activity, a Capping Day event is held which is a ceremonial promise and installation of a professional uniform stamp (head cover) as a symbol if students are ready to go into the field to undergo clinical practice in the field.

On Wednesday (15/6/2022) at the FK UNS auditorium, the Midwifery Program for the Applied Undergraduate Program FK UNS held a Capping Day event for 6th semester students who will undergo PKK in several hospitals in the Solo and surrounding areas. A total of 26 students who took part in the Capping Day event were students who had met the requirements to carry out the PKK, including passing theory and practice of lab skills in the Basic Midwifery Skills course in semester II and passing the Computer Based Test (CBT) theory test and objective laboratory skills. Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) at the Midwifery Basic Skills stage.

This event was attended by the Deputy Dean of Planning, Business Cooperation, and Information of FK UNS, Dr. Selfi Handayani, dr., M.Kes, at the same time also put a professional stamp on representatives of students who will undergo Midwifery Clinical Practice activities.

It is hoped that by participating in this Midwifery Clinical Practice activity, students can carry out midwifery care in order to fulfil basic human needs, the principles of infection prevention, laboratory/diagnostic examinations, drug administration, wound care and care for clients who have lost, faced death and after death.
