The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) on Wednesday (27/4/2022) held an Integrated Medical Laboratory Management Review Meeting. This activity was a series of integrated Medical Laboratory Internal Quality Audit activities that have been carried out on March 9-11, 2022.

The activity, which was held as preparation for laboratory accreditation, was attended by the Dean of FK UNS Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), Vice Dean I, Paramasari Dirgahayu, dr., Ph.D., Vice Dean III, Dr. Selfi Handayani, dr., M.Kes., lecturers and people in charge of the laboratory as well as laboratory staffs from several related laboratories.

In his speech Prof. Reviono said that if the FK UNS laboratory wanted to be considered quality, an evaluation had to be carried out and not only limited to administrative matters but also on the implementation of basic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) such as laboratory temperature and so on. In addition, there must be an evaluation in laboratory services.

"So far, my experience with accreditation in hospitals is that the service that is the goal is what is being evaluated," Prof. Reviono added.

Later, Prof. Reviono also added that the support from the faculty for the development and progress of the laboratory continues to be given optimally, although gradually so that the FK UNS laboratory becomes superior compared to laboratories at other universities.

"Hopefully, with an accredited FK laboratory, it will have a selling point for both research and testing from the community. Because until now, usually in the form of acknowledgment of legality from the authorities, it is considered by the public in conducting research or testing in the FK laboratory,” Prof. Reviono explained.

On this occasion, the Head of the FK UNS Integrated Laboratory, Dono Indarto, dr., M.Biotech.St, Ph.D., AIFM, submitted a report on the program that had been carried out so far. Preparations for facing accreditation have been carried out since last year and continue to be evaluated so that when accreditation takes place, good results can be obtained. Besides that, dr. Dono also said that this activity is one of the requirements that must be done before facing accreditation.

"Today, the Management Review Meeting is a requirement for all that we have prepared, the last one must have this event because yesterday there was an Internal Quality Audit event to evaluate what we have done and plan for the future," dr. Dono ended his report.
