FK UNS Holds Nuzulul Quran Event Themed: 'The Role of Women According to the Quran'
The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) on Thursday (21/4/2002) held a Nuzulul Quran event which fell on the 17th of Ramadan 1443H. The event which took the theme 'The Role of Women According to the Al-Quran' was also an appreciation for women in welcoming Kartini's Day.
The event, which took place at the Ki Hadjar Dewantara UNS Tower Building, took place in a hybrid manner with 50 offline participants and 40 participants who took part through the Zoom Cloud Meeting application.
This event began with the reading of the holy Qur'an by Difla Tanggun Salsabila, a student of the Faculty of Medicine, class of 2020 and interpreted by Annisa Nurul Azizah, a student of the Faculty of Psychology, batch 2021.
On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K) said that in addition to working at the Faculty of Medicine, it also provides opportunities to worship and seek knowledge.
“At this medical faculty, apart from working as academics, we also try to provide opportunities to be able to worship regularly and also tholabul ilmi. So, on this occasion, I would like to thank the committee for being short enough to prepare this event,” Prof. Reviono said.
This event was filled with tausyiah by Dr. H. Abdul Matin Bin Salman, L.C., M.Ag from the Surakarta State Islamic Institute (IAIN). He said that humans were created by Allah only with two genders, namely male and female.
"God created humans with only two sexes, namely female and male, apart from the general characteristics possessed by the main creatures, namely male and female humans, both of which have psychological and biological differences. There is no absolute equality between women and men, in Islam there is no equality between men and women," Dr. Abdul Matin said.
Furthermore, he said that there are some things that women can do but men can't do and vice versa. There is no deliberation or equality, absolute equality.
"Absolute equality does not exist between women and men, what is there is equality in certain parts that these similarities lead to justice," Dr. Abdul Matin said.
According to him, the two have differences but there should not be a debate among them because apart from being social, apart from humanity, there have been legal considerations based on sharia that have been determined by Allah.
"The Qur'an comes when humans deny the humanity of women, but Islam and the Qur'an give equal justice to women, recognizing their humanity as creatures who are not only to serve but as sharika or partners, friends," Dr. Abdul Matin explained.
This event ended with Question and Answer session and iftar together and Maghrib prayer in congregation.
