The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) continues to strive to improve to be better. Not only in terms of the quality of the education program but also the facilities and infrastructure as well as the development of public space within the UNS Medical Faculty.

With the theme A New Branding of Medical Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, it is hoped that FK UNS will have a fresh look with the addition of several student activity facilities and public space.

On Friday (1/4/2022) FK UNS held an inauguration ceremony for the Medical Animal Laboratory, Medical Sport Center and Public Space which was attended by UNS Rector and his staff as well as the academic community of FK UNS. The new facility owned by FK UNS was immediately inaugurated by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum, with the signing of the inscription and the release of 11 white doves representing 11 faculties at UNS.

"I often asked for help by the dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the Vice Dean Vice Dean for Academics, Research, and Student Affairs, Mrs. Sari, that UNS doesn’t have lab animal. Alhamdulillah, in 2021 we can build an animal lab for 6.5 billion Rupiah from SPI FK. I feel proud and happy because there are quite a lot of lecturers, especially students who complete further studies at the Faculty of Medicine, especially those in Doctoral Medicine," Prof. Jamal in said his speech.

He further said that many lecturers or students have not been able to complete their further studies quickly because UNS does not yet have an animal lab and must go to Yogyakarta, Surabaya or Bogor to use experimental animal laboratory facilities. With the Medical Animal Laboratory which had been completed, it was hoped that it can support the smooth running of lecturers or students in completing their education.

On this occasion, Prof. Jamal said that if he felt happy and proud, apart from inaugurating the Medical Animal Laboratory, he could also inaugurate the Medical Sport Center owned by the Faculty of Medicine.

“I am happy and happy because this morning we will inaugurate the Sport Center which is located in the south adjacent to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. So, it's not only the motto of physically healthy, not only psychologically healthy but the Faculty of Medicine also proves that there is a place for sports activities. So, ladies and gentlemen, doctors don't just let's exercise, let's do sports. Don't just give injection, but you also have to exercise at the sports center of the Faculty of Medicine, "said Prof. Jamal.

The event, which began with joint gymnastics with prizes, was also enlivened by dances performed by lecturers and academicians of FK UNS. After the inauguration ceremony, the Chancellor and his staff went directly to the FK UNS auditorium to attend the Inauguration of Building Naming at the Universitas Sebelas Maret.
